  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Any painters out there?

I get a small canvas from Wal*Mart and get some crayola kids paint. I take some acrylics and paint the canvas a base color. I'll then take several pieces of a ripped white T-shirt and tie a bunch together. Finally whatever colors I'm feeling for the day I'll load up on each individual strand of fabric with the kids paint and toss it at the canvas. Cool stress reliever and you end up with something very artistic. I tried this originally with all acrylics and the fumes ...well lets just say...:swoon:....anyways I do this everyday for a week and then declare the painting done. I give it a name whatever I would summarize my week as and viola! Art! Hehe

WOW! That really does sound like a stress reliever. My hubby would probably pop a vein if I started tossing paint at a canvas. ;) I just toodle around with craftsy type things.

Acrylics? I thought those were the ones you were supposes to use if you had breathing difficulties like asthma or something. I know when I played around with oils the paint thinner didn't agree with me. Even the so called odorless ones were a bit hard on my lungs.

I dunno for some reason I got light headed alot lol so I just used it as a base paint for a lil texture not that I needed it after slinging paint at a canvas for a bit hehe.
That works.
I got light headed with the thinner for oils. Eve with the vent on and windows open.

Know what...if you take kids paint...and get some popsicle sticks and paint them all a different color and position them into a shape of a Wheel of Fortune wheel...and put glitter and numbers on them corresponding to a flash card for a prize, you could invent a game of your own. For the spinner get a clock hand from an old clock and tack it loosely in place. Gently nail the back end of the tack closed behind the sticks and viola ure set. Get the kids together ask em what kinda game they wanna play and come up with a game name/rules etc etc. (People invented games this way you know ;) )
