Any other Southerners transplanted to the Mid-Atlantic?

Hello!

I'm originally from Alabama, and have moved around the South. However, I recently moved to the D.C. Metro. I was wondering if there were any other Southern transplants in the Mid-Atlantic. Anyone new? Been here a while?

Any tips for dealing with winter weather? I think I can deal with cold, but the snow and ice are getting to me. I can't WAIT for Spring!

Have a great, blessed day, everyone!

I have to smile, because someone in the VA thread said they considered VA to be a southern state, and here you are saying Metro DC (which includes Northern VA) is not southern. LOL. ;)

I think the minute a snow flurry is spotted, DC shuts down, so no worries. I'm with you, I grew up in Texas and don't like the cold, either! At least in New Mexico it's a dry cold! :D

Grace and peace to you :)
