And indeed it was drastic. You and others who have been here long enough will remember my earlier, far more positive posts on Islam. I can now see that I made a distinct error in judgment.

We've all been there my friend.

All it took was a terrorist attack and a read through of the Koran to convince me that in no way should Islam be allowed to continue deluding people.

Granted, it shouldn't have taken a terrorist attack to get the world noticing the evilness of Islam, and until our governments realise that the problem isn't "terror" that they might actually start combatting the actual problem.

For me it wasn't terrorism. I'm well aware of the many evils that Western Europe has committed in the name of the Christian religion, and so I will be the first to admit that such atrocious and public deeds should not cause us to misjudge a religion. What convinced me that Islam was evil was the witness of moderate Muslims. After meeting some Muslims at school and on this forum, I found that their beliefs were rather detestable to me. And there is no major dissenting voice! What good is it to say that the essence of Islam is peaceful when no one is actually practicing the peaceful version of Islam?

We need to educate the churches, the evangelicals, the pentecostals. After all Mohammedism is just another cult.

It seems that it is impossible to stick to subject on this thread, so let us leave the intended subject.

My thoughts on islam, is that is it just one of the many religions, of which, none lead to salvation. Myself, I have faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only Way to the Father.

God has commanded us to love the muslims. We don't need to fear islam, it is just a religion, a fallen teaching. God is Allmighty, He will deal with islam in time. We only need to show love and respect to the muslims, and pray that they may accept Jesus as Lord.

Concerning the OP: I thought the purpose was for people on this forum who had converted to respond with their own stories and not give stories of outsiders who have converted. Was I wrong?

Regarding your post: I don't think that the problem is loving Muslims. I do agree with your analysis. We are fighting spirits that have them (Muslims) prisioners to a ideology and practice that will in time destroy their souls. They don't recongnize it partly because they have some common elements with us in Jesus, satan, and claiming to come from the stock of Abraham while also claiming to follow some of the laws God gave to the Jews. These superficial ties has lead them to believe that they are guided by the true religion since Allah tells them that their book is is a copy of the revelation that exists in heaven. Their book (Qu'ran) is preserved and protected and is a verifier if previous revelations. All of theses things and a few more have given them the idea that something was wrong or went wrong with the previous revelations and that Islam had to correct them. Thsee type of things have them blinded from our (Christian) spiritual reality that they are about as close to salvation (in Islam) as a rock. As you know, a rock has no sense of salvation - that being the point.

Maybe just set up another thread with an identical title? I would have found relevant answers to the topic interesting, but I guess it's just because you're not used to the people that come to the non-christian forum. From my experience too many muslims come this forum without an attitude of respect but rather antagonism.

Nope, this is the Son of God coming to spank some "bootie" for not believing unto His Words of Life He preached from God His Father.

If I recall, this is a reference to Jesus, the Messiah. In no way can this be reference to David. Note the the context is future tense. The 'begotten Son' is future. Can you please explain to me how you were able to deduce that this verse was speaking of David? I am mind-boggled over this one!

You may also want to explore Daniel, especially Dan 3:25. There are others out there too!

What do you mean by the text I underlined in red? On the surface, it does not seem positive or constructive.

You obviously do not come from either a Catholic or Protestant background. Because both persuasions of Christian faith would know that the son is prophetic in referring to Jesus Christ.

OT: Salms 2:7:

I will declare the decree:
The LORD has said to Me,
You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.

This is viewed as a prophesy of Christ, as a lot of other passages in the Old Testament, like this:

OT: Isaiah 9:6:

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Here it is clearly stated that the Son is at one with the Father, that He is the mighty God. It can be no doubt that this Son is Jesus the Messiah.

But, back to the topic... You claim that David is the only son of God??? How then can it be that all humans are considered to be the children of God, sons and daughters? Rightfully it is so, though our human choices not to believe in God rob us of the opportunity to live together with our heavenly Father.

NT: Ephesians 3:14-15:

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named

OT: Isaiah 45:11-12:

This is what the LORD says
the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker:

NT: 2. Corinthians 6:18:

"I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

The Old testament and the New testament agree on Christ, as Jesus, of the seed of Abraham and David. The Old testament testifies about the New covenant, that we know from the New testament. The Old testament is filled with deep prophesies about Jesus, Him being the one that fulfills it all, for all eternity:

OT: Genesis 49:8-10:

Judah, your brothers will praise you;
your hand will be on the neck of your enemies;
your father's sons will bow down to you.

You are a lion's cub, O Judah;
you return from the prey, my son.
Like a lion he crouches and lies down,
like a lionesswho dares to rouse him? The scepter will not depart from Judah,
nor the ruler's staff from between his feet,
until he comes to whom it belongs
and the obedience of the nations is his.

NT: Revelation 5:5:

Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals."

NT: Revelation 22:16b:

I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

So, my friend.. my salvation is not of lie.. but of Truth.. you can find it everywhere in the Bible.. the testimony that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and the only Way to the Father.

The Bible flows over with signs that Jesus is the Son of God. And that we too, you and me, might be the sons of God too, if we believe in Jesus Christ as the Son:

NT: John 1:12-13:

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

it seems to be impossible for people here to stay on subject....

thanks for your post.. I know that it is hard for us to explain to the muslims, because they are so limited by the Quran's statements.. it's a hindrance.. but we have an Allmighty God, and should continue to pray and preach with all love and kindsness - God will do what is necessary..

I have already made another thread.. in the christain section.. for new christians

well. I understand that people of other faiths want to come here to discuss... I think that we should look at it as a blessing.. God sends them in our direction, where they might get to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour

had it not been for this, that we should spread the gospel.. we could have been in heaven now..

so, let's continue to pray, and show kindness and respect, while we try to share the Truth about Jesus to all people..
