  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have to tell you about how great God is! (as if you already didn't know) My husband and I wanted a boxer so bad. We searched and searched for one, but never had any luck. Well, this went on for a couple months so we prayed that God will make a way for us to get one. One day out of the blue, my husband was driving to work and this male, fawn boxer ran right in front of the car. Almost hitting him, he slammed on the brakes and went on. This was a pretty good distance away from our house. A few days later, I saw him running around outside of our house so I went out to try to coax him to me. He wouldn't let me get near him. Well, for the next two weeks, we kept seeing him running around so we called the dog pound and come to find out, they had been trying to catch him too because of all the calls from people spotting him. We kept putting food out because one, he was very skinny and hungry, and two, to try to catch him. We finally agreed to let the pound put a trap on the back patio to try and get him that way. He outsmarted us all! He pulled the blanket with his paw and ate the food. (lol) We attempted so many times to get him to come to us, but he never would. I went out for something and saw him again so I tried talking to him and this time he stopped and looked at me for a long time. I slowly made my way towards him and he ran around a few houses and stopped again. To make a long two hours short (which is how long it took me to finally get him) He was so dehydrated and malnourished, if he would of went on any longer, he would of died. He layed down in our neighbors yard and gave me the most pathetic howl. I knew he was saying help me. I pet him for a little while and then we got up and walked right into the house. We were all so amazed. He totally adores our four children, cocker spaniel and cat. We know with all of our hearts that God sent us this dog. We even waited four weeks to see if someone would claim him and no one did. It just goes to show that God not only wants to supply our needs, but our wants as well. Oh by the way, his name is Maximus.

That is a great story. Boxers are good dogs and lots of fun. My fiancee has two of them, both males and they can be a handfull sometimes. The youngest one loves to get in the car with me if I don't get out fast enough. They are dogs with a lot of energy that is for sure.

I think boxers are so much alike in their personalities. Maximus also bolts to the van to go with us and we have to play Flash Gordon just to beat him out. He does get too rough with his playing though. My 11 year old has been to the ER twice with knocks from the dog. His latest is 6 stitches from the dog bum rushing him and knocking him into the coffee table chin first. But we couldn't ask for a more loyal and protective companion.

Just thought I'd let you know what happened yesterday. I never open the door when the mailman comes to put our mail in the box because Maximus goes absolutely apenuts. Well, yesterday, the mailman needed to talk to me about some mishaps with our mail and we were trying to talk through the door while the dog was barking and going crazy. So, I thought I would try and squeeze through a little opening in the door and push the dog back with my knee. Needless to say, it didn't work out that way. He pushed me right out of the way and cornered the poor mailman. Well, out of fear, the mailman started waving his mail at the dog telling him to get back. Out of feeling threatened, Maximus jumped up and bit him in the arm. It broke the skin in one place, and almost punctured another. The mailman did have to report it to his supervisor so he could warn substitute carriers. He did refuse medical treatment though, and is okay but the kicker is, Maximus isn't up to date on his shots. Ouch! We have to quarantine him for ten days then the health department will come out and check him for health and safety issues. He isn't going to be happy because at the end of all this, he is taking a little trip to get his shots and get neutered. Sorry Maximus.

Congrats on the new member of your family!

It sounds like Maximus must have had a rough life before he came to you. He probably really needs a stable, loving home. Boxers have wonderful (if exuberant) temperaments and I often think of getting one.

I hope all is well with your mail carrier, and I also hope that Maximus settles down into peaceful family life.
