• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

It seems like almost every Saturday (because I can wake up and lie in bed vs having to actually get up) I wake up feeling anxious. It's an unsettling tension in my chest. It's almost as though my body is gearing up for me to be worried about something, when I don't really have anything specific in mind. This doesn't happen so much on workdays, because I'm mostly thinking about how much I'd rather go back to bed lol. But, yeah. Anyone else experience this?

Yes, when I was working. On Saturday and more often Sunday morning I would get anxious and become more so as the day progressed. I know it was all about the weekend dwindling away and having to go back to work on Monday morning. I learned to meet the day and live in the moment and enjoy it. Tomorrow has enough worries of its own.(Matthew 6:34)

I would ask if you have anything specifically to do on a Saturday? If not, then perhaps make sure you have some plans? Even if it is tasks around the house; it is always better for anxiety if you have something that you can occupy yourself with.
Also, these times are, in my experience, good opportunities to spend time alone with God and pour out your cares and concerns to Him.
‘Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God’ (Philippians 4:6 KJV)

‘Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you’ (1 Peter 5:7 RSV)

Yeah the weekends can either be worst or the best just depending. I posted on here about God's prayer of peace and both of those links helped me from being anxious today check it out. I think it's cause we wake up not rushing to get up and our thoughts can haunt us but let those teachings above help you
