Who else here is familiar with this pioneer in the christian extreme metal scene? In the early 90's when they started they got serious deaththreats from the secular bands in the scene, they released their first demo in 1991, and now, in 2004 (well, officially 2005) they still release a new cd (with a few in between) I've seen them live now and have a great deal of respect for the band, they have no shame for their faith, and during concert people were kneeling down on the ground or had their hands lifted in the air praising god, very weird to see at concert like that, but very cool none the less.
Their music changed from first doom/death metal with a hint of black, to Satyricon like black metal, to now a very own style within 'bm', remenicent of 'Anthems to the welkin at dusk' Emperor era riffing, with the Sorrowfull sound that Antestor is known for. Their latest album I have a pre-release of, and it's truly a masterpiece, any fan of 'black metal' (un-black, holy un-black, sorrow metal, whatever you prever to call it, black just types faster
) needs to have this album in their collection
Discography:
1991 The Defeat of Satan
1993 Despair
1994 Martyrium
1998 Return of the Black Death
2003 Det Tapte Liv EP
2005 The Forsaken
