Hi Ladies,

Do any of you have anovulatory cycles? (That is to say, do you fail to ovulate during your monthly cycle?) I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), which seems to be keeping me from ovulating.

Metformin is meant to help this for women with PCOS, and I'm currently taking 1500 mg of metformin per day. This is my first month off birth control, and I've seen neither hide nor hair of ovulation.

Anybody else in this boat? Any suggestions on kickstarting ovulation?

I've been charting my basal body temperatures on FertilityFriend.com, and I've got none of the usual temperature patterns for ovulation. This isn't terribly unexpected, because my doctor has told me in the past that I probably don't ovulate. I've read that it may take a few months to get things moving, but I'm impatient. :)

Please be patient or you will drive yourself and your hubby crazy. It sounds like you are doing everything you can right now to get ovulating. Hopefully you will ovulate and have a period soon, so that you know what's going on. If you don't, talk to your Dr. but please relax, this is supposed to be a fun time.

As for me, I have had regular cycles since Jan '06, so I'm not sure why I'm not pregnant yet. I may not ovulate every time, but even so, it's been well over a year
