Hello friend, look around, you have people in the world who say that murder is not a sin if its done for the right reasons. You have all kinds of people who cannot agree on what sin is because each person has his own personal set of opinions. Only God knows truly what sin is! So yes Homosexuality is a sin because The Bible says so! Who else has the power or the knowledge of God?~NO ONE!
The truth is that homosexuality is a sin, and even if someone could prove that they were born homosexual....it doesnt, homosexuality is a sin! We are all born in sin! But if we are true Christians we will not purposefully continue in what God calls sin!

Your question presupposes a higher moral standard that actually defines sin. Government doesn't define 'sin', it defines crime as a violation of the law (which is established by the government). Social instiutions define 'ethical issues'. These ethical issues are subjective, enforced with varying degrees, and only affect a small subset of people. In other words, there is no such institution that defines sin since sin is specified by the Word of God alone.
Your question might as well be "Why is it a crime not pay taxes on my pet besides the fact that the goverment says I have to pay the tax?" Well, without the institution of the law, there is no other reason to pay the tax. You are asking a question that you already know has only one answer.

Human beings are created as males and females to "pro-create". To do the opposite goes against our created purpose...the mark has clearly been missed in the practice of homosexuality. It's not even supported in nature, which makes sense when you consider that God created all things. No matter how you slice it, the practice of homosexuality is not natural.

1 Corinthians 6:9 mentions not only homosexual, but greedy, slanderers, drunkards, etc.
God is our Creator, He made us for His plans, we can have blessings and wonderful life with Him, especially when we love Him back. He doesn't take things away from us to be mean, He only takes away things that are harmful. I don't know exactly about homosexuality, but I know many sexual things are evil to Him. He made us to be man and wife one time, not marrying over and over and having porn addictions. His ways are blessings and good, not burdensome.

Simple. Because it perverts God's plan for marriage.
In the Bible, God uses different imagery to illustrate spiritual principles.
For instance, we see that Melchizidek is a representation of the pre-incarnate Christ, we see that God providing a ram to save Isaac is a representation of God sending Jesus to save us, and we see that the destruction of the world through the flood is a representation of God's judgement on mankind.
In the same way, marriage is meant to demonstrate the authority of Christ, His ministry to the church, and the church's role.
The way God does this is by giving men and women different gender roles and saying, "OK, the husband in the marriage is like Jesus in this way...and the wife is like the church in this way..."
This works as an illustration because we can see that husband and wife (man and women) have different gender roles and different roles and responsibilities in the marriage.
In a same sex marriage, we don't have these different roles, thus, God's illustration of Jesus' relationship to the church fails.

Why is sex with animals or children a sin other than that the Bible says so?
Why does sexual sin get all the attention when it is greed and selfish ambition that causes the world to let its brother starve to death over night? Because we are spiritually dead sinners without God that haven't got a clue about how to live right lives. We get everything out of order over our wants for this and that over any truth until we listen to God who cares for us and will give us only the best things... Why is it so hard to trust the God of such awesome wonder and beauty in life. He is the light that dispells the darkness...

Personally, I find all the opposition to to the homosexuals appaling, and I just have to ask, without trying to be too insensitive.
How can you see being prejudiced toward the homosexuals as an acceptable form of bigotry, but in other contexts such as race and religion for the most part be tollerant? Just because your religion calls it a sin, doesnt mean they have to follow it if it is ungrounded otherwise.

Condemning sin in others is wrong, but speaking the truth about what the fruit of homosexuality produces is not - especially when God gives man a commission to be fruitful and multiply His famly and creation in man. Yes, people that call themselves by the very name of love as Christian, often forgetting who they represent and speak unkindly or with condemnation. That makes them them wrong for doing so. It is never right to condemn another person over sin, but that does not mean a person cannot answer the truth in love and point out sin for what it is. The Bible tells us that we must share the truth with humility and with love. Christains are sinners that make as many mistakes as anyone else, but they have a responsibility to see the better path and repent of carelessness with others.
Sexual sin gets most of the attention just like it always does because it is a strong physical drive that can seem out of control at certain periods of a person's life. That still does not mean we are helpless to control our flesh with the mind in submission to what is good and what God tells us is fruitful for life. Personally, I see greed, hatred,selfshness, and envy as much more destrucive, but I also see that sexual sin is only part of those other sins and just another of the tempory things of this life that distracts us from the great meaning and worth God places upon what He has placed in these earthen vessels we now inhabit. The Bible tells us to dedicate these temporary tents we inhabit as bodies to Him, so that His eternal works of love, faith, and hope can help others over just the base desires of the flesh that leads to death and corruption. The true Christian has as a goal to even love their enemy, but that does not mean blind to the truth and being unable to speak the truth with love. Without giving the warning, how will a person avoid danger, and we are instructed to speak up when asked or confronted by the situation that demands an answer or the blood of them that perish, remaining in ignorance, is on our hands.

There is no justification for saying that homosexuality is a sin outside a narrowly-defined inaccurate translation of no more than about 5 verses in the Bible.
The arguement from nature is nonsense. Homosexuality is not exactly unknown in the rest of the animal kingdom. In fact it's surprisingly quite common.
