  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Nothing profound here. Just something that really irritates me. Drivers who don't turn on their headlights in the rain. In many, if not most states it's the law. But people ignore it, or forget to do it. We've had a rainy spell the last 2 days. It was coming down pretty hard yesterday. I was headed west. And coming at me in the eastbound lane was a cop car. That I couldn't see till he almost passed me because he didn't have his lights on. A cop!

Cars should have an automatic interlock. Whenever the wipers are turned on, the headlights also come on. The cost would be minimal. It's a sensible safety precaution.

was it really dark outside?

It was about 4pm. Still daytime, but it was very overcast, and raining pretty hard. Visibility was not so good. It's disconcerting when you can't see oncoming traffic clearly until you're just a car length or so away. Daytime running lights are not always enough.

In quite a few countries you cannot drive in broad daylight without having lights on. Your visibility as a vehicle on the road increases greatly at distance. Many modern vehicles also adjust which lights (parking or headlights) are on depending on level of daylight.
