For missions beyond Earth orbit, rockets still initially launch with a curved trajectory to take advantage of Earth's rotation and conserve fuel, just like for orbital missions. However, once in orbit, they perform additional maneuvers to achieve escape velocity.So what happens to rockets that don't just want to orbit ?
