Another look at the moon landing.

You don't seem to realise that Jesus told his disciples that they would be rejected and persecuted, just as he was. He told them that if people rejected them they were rejecting him, and if they rejected him they rejected the One who sent him. He said that if anyone caused one of his children to lose faith, it would be better for that person to have a millstone tied around their neck and be thrown into the sea.
A Christian comes along, says that he walked on the moon and talks about it. During his talk he also says that the walk on the moon was not the most important thing in his life, meeting Jesus was. He said that he had met the One who created the moon and stars and openly talked about his faith.
This is a great testimony and one that God has given him - people may even have become Christians as a result of it.
Your response? He's lying.
By rejecting Charles' Christian testimony you are rejecting him. Go back and read what Jesus said would happen to people who rejected his disciples.

No one was forbidden from reading it, it just isn't read in Church. That's what the biblical Canon refers to, the books that are read in the Liturgy of the Church.

Nobody is places Charles on a pedestal. We would be if we said he was a better Christian than everybody else, but nobody is saying that. We are just reacting to your repeated accusations that he lied when h said, as part of his testimony as a Christian, that he had been to the moon.

If we were all free to add what books we wanted to God's inspired word, there would be no standard for true doctrine. The three books we are talking about are not part of God's word. You may remember that back in July, I wrote about the Book of Jubilees:

So in some of its content, the Book of Jubilees actually contradicts the bible.

The differences are, a) that Charles became a Christian AFTER his walk on the moon. As a Christian he didn't say, "yeah, I have to confess, I made it up; it wasn't real." He gives talks about how he, and the others, landed on the moon - and says that Jesus is greater than that and the most important person in his life. You were once convinced, and moved, by his testimony. You are now saying that he is a liar, because you watched some video on YouTube where someone said that the earth is flat.
B) At best, Dean was mistaken when he said that playing fields are flat and, when he was told the truth, was too lazy to change the information on his website. At worst, he knows that his statement was false, but it suits his theory, and he is deliberately misleading people.
c) Dean DID say, in a public interview, "let's do this; let's go to Antarctica. If there is a 24 hour sun, the earth's a ball; if there isn't, it's flat." The trouble was that he didn't take advantage of the free trip, he wasn't there but he still rubbished the evidence.

In short, Charles has an amazing testimony - which even changed YOU. While Dean has shown that he is unreliable.

I would believe that if you could quote just one instance of Strong in Him even suggesting that Charles was in any way better than other Christians. All I have seen is Strong in Him defending Charles's integrity when you have said he lied about going to the moon.

Important: Whatever is of the flesh is flesh, and profits nothing. What is of the flesh, carnal, worldly, in error,
if anyone trusts that, thing (book, teaching, doctrine, man, etc) , it is leading to destruction, is harmful, and is instead of Christ.

You are embarrassed about our references to Charles Duke because a) he went to the moon and was therefore an eye witness, b) he became a Christian some time after he had returned from the moon, c) you were once moved by his testimony and "hand on heart" believed every word and d) you are well aware that you are calling one of God's children a liar.
Because you don't want to admit to this and don't know how to address this eye witness testimony, you turn it back on us and claim that we are obsessed with him.

Not at all.
I'm trying to get you to understand that a) there are many witnesses to the space missions - people who worked on the rockets, built them, tested them, flew to the moon but did not/were not able to land and finally who went to the moon and walked on it. B) that some of these people were Christians, later became Christians and have no reason to lie. And c) you haven't just "changed your mind", you have, effectively, told God that you are sorry that you said you were sorry and you have gone back on your resolution to ask for his help in believing in a globe earth; "it will be tough, but with his help I'll get there."

But either you don't understand, you can't understand or you understand only too well but your addiction to conspiracy theories won't let you consider that you may be wrong. The first two could be resolved if you were willing to listen to the facts, ask sensible questions and try to study to find out. The latter is probably a waste of time - you are not going to admit that you are wrong. It is also mocking God, which is quite serious, but you're never going to be able to see that.

Maybe I should stop trying to care and just leave you to your delusion.
