  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

John 1:29 says:

"The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."

That word "taketh" according to C.H. Spurgeon in a sermon "The Sin-Bearer" says that the word "taketh" in the Greek is in the present tense and means that Jesus was at that time already carrying the worlds sin upon Him.

Jesus also said:

"Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." -Matt. 20:28

And the Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy:

"Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time." -1 Tim. 2:6

And it was John who said:

"And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world...Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." -1 John 2:2; 4:10

So I would say yes that it can be infered from what Jesus said that he was to die for our sins.
