  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I believe that animals go to heaven. I find it interesting that in Genesis when God was talking to Noah after the flood, after giving man the animals as meat to eat, God mentioned that He would demand an accounting from anyone who spilled man's blood...even from the animals would He demand an accounting should they kill a human. I've always wondered how would you demand an accounting from an animal?

I think the Garden of Eden was a reflection of Heaven. And it had animals galore! :)

Exactly. They didnt sin, so theyre is no way they can be damned to hell.

Ive always kinda thought that animals have a connection with God that a lot of people dont have. Like a lot of us choose to turn away from him, but they dont. They stay close, while we, the "smart" ones, shut him out. Its almost like they have a knowlege about how to be Godly and caring that sometimes people just dont try to have.

I agree with Skate Pixie's statement: "They didnt sin, so theyre is no way they can be damned to hell."
Animals worship God in their everyday life by carrying out His will by just being themselves in the way God had designed them. If we, as Christians, do the same (by means of Christ's salvation) we are promised eternal life in Heaven. We, as humans, needed Christ to purify ourselves from sin, animals need no means of purification for they have no sin. (This is one reason why animals were used as sacrifices in the Old Testament, they were the only living beings that were pure until Christ, "the Lamb of God", arrived on Earth). Therefore, it would only make sense that we will see our pets would go to Heaven. (My mom also states that there was a scripture about animals in Heaven in the scriptures or something like that... which could be the same passage Gumdrop 71 referred to). Also, Heaven is designed to be greater than our imaginations could invision, which leads me to agree with Lorena's statement:
"Heaven wouldn't be heaven without animals. :)"

uh, are you people serious? earthly animals dont have souls...how could they go to heaven when they die? what would separate humans from animals if they could? secondly, they didnt sin, but theyre still corrupted by the Fall...thats why they die in the first place. thirdly, whoever said it, you cant imagine heaven without animals because you cant imagine heaven in the first place...the Bible says so. i cant believe this is even being discussed.

yea i read it and responded, but those verses have nothing to do with animals dying. all they say is that there will be animals on the new earth.

OK. Do you believe Revelation?? It says animals will be Praising G-d. I listed the Bible verses. How can a animal or human without a son Praise G-d? If they are in the afterlife.....how they get there without a soul? They seem to have awarness of G-d in Revelation if the animals in the sea is praising G-d.

because God creates them then just like He did in the first place. please, find me a verse in the Bible that says animals have a soul and go to heaven when they die.

How about Genisis when they were in the Holy Land. I would assume if they are in the Holy Land where Adam and Eve were....they will be in G-d's Holy Land when they die.

They were there in the beginning what makes you think they wont be there in the end???

do i need to repeat myself? read my posts in depth please. i'm not saying animals wont be in the new earth, i just said that i dont think our pets or animals who have died will be these animals in the new earth? do you even know what the new earth is?

OK. I read your post. Did you read my entire post???? What makes you think they won't?? Is it because they have no knowledge of G-d?

to your point about animals praising God in heaven (new earth): the Bible also speaks about nature (mainly rocks) crying out to God, right? so, do you think a tree goes to heaven when it dies?

also: man has dominion over animals, also a God-given right to kill them (for the right purposes of course). wouldnt animals be equal to humans if they had souls?

still wanting scripture from you...
