Since there seem to be quite a few fans of AC, shouldn't it have it's own special thread? :)

I just got my house renovated for the third time. Now I have a huge room (I went for that instead of the full basement). How big can your house eventually get?

Is selling fish the best way to make money? When I run errands, I end up with pockets full of shirts and stationery.

Also, there the problem of catching bugs. Apparently, there just aren't many bugs in the wintertime. The only one I've caught is the bagworm. I can hear them chirping and stuff but I can't ever find where they are. My daughter found one when she banged a rock with her shovel, but she wasn't fast enough to catch the bug. Any tips?

And fishing. I get that you're more likely to catch certain fish at certain times of the day, but I've only ever caught 2 ocean fish...a red snapper (MONEY!)and a sea bass. Is there something I'm missing as far as catching ocean fish?

Also, share what your decorating themes are. Mine is just a mix of pretty things that I like...Saharrah's desert carpet, elaborate wall, fan palms, goldfish, a dinger oombloid thingy, and a few other things.

I'm hooked on this game...now if I could just get Mark to move in maybe he'd stop rolling his eyes everytime I turn it on. :)

Love, Heather

[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]! I love Animal Crossing! I rented it last week, and was so addicted to it, I had to buy it. lol I just got my house bigger.

I've found that if you sell fossils to Tom Nook, he'll give you up to 4,500 bells. (that's the most I've ever gotten anyway.) lol Thats what I do instead of giving it to the museum. :p

I only cought a cricket, and accidentally let it go... :( I haven't seen anymore bugs.

I've only caught 2 fish from ocean too... I don't know how you get them to hold on to the bait...

If you sell him skulls (like a t-rex skull) he'll give you 6000.

My daughter had a bug hopping around her house, but she squashed it...lol. It's poor little bug spirit floated away.

The museum will only take one of each thing, so I donate every thing to the museum the first time I find it, then if I find extras I sell those :)

Love, Heather

If anyone wants alot of money, there are two major ways....

Go to April 18th and type the code for 100 turnips to Tom Nook... Then sell them to him, they'll be about $90 dollars apiece. (Though this doesn't always work, so keep time traveling by going to the start up screen of your Gamecube).

Keep changing the time back to the beginning of the year... On Jan. 01, you'll get 10000 bells.. Do this over and over..

Nooooo! Don't cheat at Animal Crossing. The game is all about the experience. If you just keep changing the time then it loses something.

Well, okay, cheat if you want...but I'm not gonna.

And what about turnips??? I've been playing for almost a month and I have yet to see a turnip :( Where do you get them?

Or put in this code, and you'll get 100 turnips.

(Talk to Tom, select other things, then Say Code. You can only do this 3 times per session, but you can save and quit, then do it again. ;) )

Today, I got them for 108 bells a piece!
:D :p

Good Knight! You weren't suppose to tell..... That's half the expirence of destorying half the expirernce... Be careful with time travel though, your neighbor's get touchy...

Yeah, I started a town.... My name was Dr. Lyle, and the town's ame was Hellville (a real city); I get off the train and it shows that I have redish eyes and the t-shirt with flames on it..... Ironic!

Tsk, tsk. Cheating at Animal Crossing ruins the whole experience.

HeatherJay, Slow Joan sells turnips every Sunday - ONLY Sunday. She is a warthog with a bandana on and she will be wandering around your town at certain times on Sundays.

Personally, I don't like the whole turnip deal - takes too much time to actually make money and sometimes you don't make ANY. Fishing is DEFINITELY the way to go. Fish in the ocean, since the only 3 fish you can catch are Sea Bass, Red Snappers, and Barred Knife Jaws. Just keep fishing and throwing back all the sea bass until your inventory is full of RS's and BKJ's, because they are worth 3000 and 5000 bells respectively.

This is the best way to get MAJOR money though. Wait until there's a rainy day (can't do it now with the winter, but wait until spring and summer) and then make sure to play at night, around 6 pm or so. Fish in the ocean, and try to catch Coelacanths. They ONLY appear in the ocean on rainy days. Walk slowly down the beach until you see a fish's shadow. The Coelacanth's shadow is HUGE, you will be able to tell if it is one or not. If it's a normal size shadow, run towards it and scare the fish away. Then go to a different screen and repeat. Every time you scare a fish away, it "resets" to a new fish, so you increase your chance of catching Coelacanths without having to do all the fishing. I filled my entire inventory with them in about 30 minutes, and they sell for 15,000 bells EACH. Suffice to say, I have enough money to pay off all my house upgrades in a single day, plus much more to spare.

Yay! I caught a Stringfish last night...but I gave it to the museum.

That turnip code listed in this thread is missing a character. Not that I tried to cheat or anything..*ahem*...you know, it was just, ummm, something that I happened to notice. Yeah, that's it. ;)

The Biggest your house can get is a large area, with basement, and an upstairs. that is where I am at. It cost like 700,000 for it and then after you pay it back you get a statue of yourself in the town. I love the game and the random letters from "mom". I find that around 6pm you can catch good ocean fish. I fished then one time and got 7 barred knife fish. maybe it was only a random thing. I talked to the mayor and he asked me to turn on the lighthouse for a week,, I FORGot. opps...lol. The gifts he gives you are usually worth a lot of money. ALSO, ONE ROCK PER DAY CAN WILL GIVE OUT ABOUT 3000 BELLES. GO UP TO THE RIGHT ROCK AND HIT IT WITH YOUR SHOVEL, THE RIGHT ONE WILL TURN RED, HIT IT VERY FAST AND IT WILL SPILL OUT MONEY. sorry if someone already said this,, im too lazy to read it all.

Yeah, I forgot to turn on the light house yesterday... :sigh: Does he still give you something if you just miss one day?

I've tried the rock thing, and I can't find the red rock! :(

If you build a snowman, and do it right, the snowman will send you something. I got a snowman clock. :D

No, the mayor won't give you anything if you miss one day. I know, it stinks. If you turn on the lighthouse all week you get a nifty light house model.

A couple little advice tidbits on the rocks. Use a gold shovel if you have it, because the rock can yield up to 30,000 bells if your gold shovel is used. And when you are going to hit a rock with your shovel, make sure that something solid is behind you, like a tree or another rock. Every time you hit a rock with the shovel you bounce back a little and you will end up to far away from the rock to hit it and you will get less money. If there is nothing solid around the rock, then dig a hole behind your character, since the character won't be able to move backwards over it. That way you can always get the max amount from all the rocks.

And you can build a new snowman every day and eventually get the entire snowman living room set. I heard you get a lot of points from the HRA if you have an entire Snowman living room. I had an entire Halloween set and got around 140,000!
