• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So I've taken a vow of celibacy and a straight edge lifestyle. I was an average Christian before but relationships were getting in the way so that's why my name here is Lone_Disciple because I want to stay private from the public eye but still contribute or serve the community.

After my retirement is in place I will take a vow of silence.

Just because I am a Christian doesn't mean Christians can't practice yoga, meditation or be Zen or admire some of Buddha's teachings. All that matters is that I believe in God and accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and follow the Holy Bible each day and it's 10 commandments Jesus' brother Moeses announced on the curved/engraved concrete slabs on a rain, stormy night. I'm also living a healthy lifestyle by reaching my goal BMI and eating responsibly.

Welcome Lone_Disciple, I hope you're having a Happy New Year! Very personal introduction, I'm thankful for it, short but tells us much about you. Glad you've heard your calling personally and are taking steps to better yourself in the Lord. May God bless you in your journey!

Welcome! There are quite a few Anglican clergy or clergy-in-training on CF, I hope you find the community here useful.

Do you mind if I ask which monastic community you've joined?

I don't know how to PM you so I might as well say something brief but if you inbox me, I'll tell you. As I'm only a trainee and not been ordained yet, I do not belong to the monastery yet but I am visiting. I'm a lay Christian Monk meaning I'm not completely attached but I do take my faith in God & Jesus very seriously as well as my choice of celibacy. Right now I'm visiting a Monastery in East Riding of Yorkshire and Central Africa as I am doing charity work in central Africa but until I prove myself worthy and complete my priesthood training, I do not belong to any monasteries and at the moment I need to get my financial situation in order as I am visiting East Asia as well as Central Africa and I also have have a second home in East Asia.

Well, that's a lot to work through! Working out which monastic community and then the question of vocation to ordination is a huge amount.

I found the discernment period really enriching but also very emotionally taxing; I'll pray that God bless you as you journey through yours.

Welcome to Christian Forums.

I would love to hear more of the path that God has put you on.

We have a forum for Anglicans at Scripture,Tradition,Reason-Anglican & Old Catholic

God bless you.

It wasn't God but much rather my faith in him that's brought me to this path. I'll be making a YouTube channel showing all my videos of my journey. I have a freelance partnership with YouTube and Google and I do non-profit marketing charity events with my YouTube videos. At the moment I'm deleting my current channel because I am getting harassed online by someone who very much dislikes me.

Thank you! It is very difficult but giving something back to the community and having the Holy Spirit in my heart is very important to my general personal happiness.

Welcome to CF. I hope you find it an encouraging and useful place to be.

I seem to get treated like a social outcast on other forum sites so this makes me feel much more welcome .
