God could stop you from killing yourself, He has stopped me in the past. Something for which I am very thankful now.

However God has given us a free will and this means that God respects our choices - even the choice to doom ourselves He leaves up to us.

It is best to choose for life though, for this is the purpose you have been created. Do know that with God you can overcome the hardships of this life and be transformed into a new being through the work of His Spirit.

To fight back against depression and to overcome it is great. This is something I'm finding out after many years of depression, I love God for giving me the will to live again. To have love, faith and hope again, so much better than being down the dumps. God has worked this in me even though medications haven't worked for me.

Please go to God for help to fight against the need to kill yourself, suicide is a terrible force to have to fight but His life is so much better.

dear jeshu thank you for your helpful answer and sharing your own experience, you have a kind and loving heart. your kind post made me think how god has sent you to stop me from killing myself. i suppose there is an evil one trying to convince me to die and god seeking to convince me to live

There are also the rotten angels who allied themselves with Satan.

And then there are the demons too... different beings than angels, but no less rotten.

To the OP: these folks got it right--whenever those dark thoughts surface, no matter where they originate from, be it from your own sinful mind, whispers from a bad angel, a demon, whatever, whenever it happens turn to God immediately.

When those dark moments hit, put your focus immediately on Christ. Put your trust in Him where it belongs.

He'll get you thru it.

This world is cruel I know but we can try and make our tiny part of the world a safe place by praying to Jesus for strength and courage. I need to do that a lot. I often suffer from crippling anxiety myself. Do you see a doctor? I have found it helps and seeing a counselor helps, too. Do you have access? You will find that everyone in this Recovery forum are very kind and caring and will help support you to go on. I can't promise you but I bet there will be many better times for you as you go on one day at a time and praying to Jesus for help and guidance. "This too shall pass" is something that has helped me in hard times. Many of us here are suffering so you are surely not alone brother. God bless you always in all ways! Praying here.
