  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And the woman saith unto the serpent, `Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we do eat,
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, "Ye shall eat of it not, ye shall die"
And the serpent saith unto the woman, "Ye shall eat of it, not ye shall die"

And Jehovah God saith to the woman, `What [is] this thou hast done?' and the woman saith, `The (sneaky) snake snaked me -- and I did eat.'

From one Granpa to another, O.K., i'll bite! It is obvious to me we are not talking about apples here, but sex! Especially if we realize that touch, in the original Hebrew, was NAGA, and it means, "To lie with a woman" and Midst, in the original Hebrew is TAVEK, and it means, "To sever the center thereof." As the Apostle Paul put it, the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty. Beguiled, taken back to the original Greek meaning, "to wholly seduce" both mentally and physically. And of course, all of this is put in context by verse 25, And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed." And Grampa, I'm sure we are both old enough to know sex can still get us in trouble! Now, since I bit, tell me where I'm going wrong.

the trees were redwood trees and they represent cherubim

Its highly unlikely that its about sex.
(After all, mankind was commanded to be fruitful and multiply)
So much so that I would sooner believe that its referring to a vulcan mind meld
than I would believe that its referring to sex.

My take.

God revealed himself to Moses and told him to write. The book of Genesis is full of revelation about Jewish, Israel, the Law, Christianity, and future times.

Adam and Eve are shadows of the Jewish nation who chose to put themselves under the Law.

The Garden of Eden, represents righteous. The Tree of Life is Jesus Christ and the Tree of Knowledge is the Mosaic Law. The righteous man is free to eat of the all the trees except the Tree of Knowledge, the Law. No man can find righteousness through the Law and can only be found through faith received the Tree of Life, Jesus Christ.

The fruit of the tree does not represent sex or and fruit, it represents man's free will choice to try and show themselves worthy of salvation. PRIDE

Our Father in heaven wants us to surrender to the Tree of Life, Jesus Christ. He wants us to live without judgment. He wants us to walk in the Spirit of Love.

After Adam and Eve ate of the fruit, God placed his curse upon the ground, which represents works of man, and told Adam that he would have work the ground but it would not produce good food but only weeds and thorns. Man's works are useless for salvation and only those of Jesus Christ are worthy.

Genesis is not as much a running historical account but revelation about God revealing himself to man. It is full of wonders.
