Since the other one got so many different opinions of what he said in his other video, I'm going to post this one and see what you think. I want y'all to watch the video first and then make an educated post about this, no "i didnt watch the video but..." lol

I admit, I didn't watch the video, just listened to it but I imagine that you are absolutely correct

Ok, so I watched it.


From JUST the perspective of a struggling couple whose idea of marriage was going to be the fairy tale story....I get it. I agree with him. This is my thought on it as a whole.

It will be dissected up and compared (rightfully so as anything else), and that I just can't do right now. I'd also like to see if there's any literature or interviews floating around with his after thoughts as there were with the last one.

Basically what I agree with is that marriage is work. It's really hard work sometimes. It's not a fairy tale all the time or even most of the time. We have movies and such to kind of lead us to think otherwise as we grow up unless we have some actual good examples to follow and people willing to show us the truth along the way.


I definitely enjoy watching him. I mean...listen...I mean....enjoy...I'll watch him anytime...ah sheesh.

Now, chick flicks (or romance novels), perhaps he has a point with that. They are after all, supposed to be about "real" life so they could be taken more seriously. But my personal opinion is that if those are all you watch/enjoy than perhaps it isn't the movies/books that are causing the problems but more so that you are searching for something that isn't real and they are just the fillers for a much bigger issue. Most women with that problem, even if you took those things away from them, would find their fantasy elsewhere.

Back on topic- he seems like a guy who has a good head on his shoulders and his videos have the potential to be a great ministry. I can't agree with 100% of what he preaches but frankly, as none of it is about salvation, I can still respect what he is trying to say.

ETA: Ok now I watched it and if it's performance art then I'm ok with it. but if people are looking to him as some kind of marriage/relationship counselor/guru when he has never been married then I think that is weird. I don't think much of what he says is that big of a revelation.

I dont think people are going to look at him like that. You're exactly right though, it's not a big revelation it's actually so small that people forget it every day about what he's talking about. Since it's so small, people actually forget that you have to work through it to make it work. So no, it isn't a big revelation at all.

It doesn't make me less of a person or a Christian to not have the "right" opinion about this video. What he is saying is "good" but if it came from an older person that HAD been married for many years I would trust it more and it would resonate more with me.

Well, to be honest...your first response came off brash to begin with. Sometimes we ourselves set the tone. I'm an expert at it at times.

It's clear in his video that he mentioned being a part of a failed/struggling marriage. I take it as he was the child in that situation. You're absolutely right in that unless you've walked certain shoes, you can't really know. I agree.

I also agree that a person have a better insight (as a child in a struggling marriage) than say someone who has never been on either side. I think that's all Jenny was trying to direct you to....that part in the video where he speaks of this in case you hadn't noticed. If you had, then that's cool too.

ok, well I'm sorry I came off brash to begin with if that is what you think but I was also addressing/directing towards the video not the original poster where as I did feel rudeness from her directed towards me. And I stand by my opinion; which I suppose makes me a terrible person to everyone here or wrong in the eyes of others. I don't want to fight about this, but the OP did ask for opinions in the first place.
