Ancient invaders in modern setting.

I dreamt that the Normans had just invaded and conquered Britain, but the people of Britain appeared to be modern, and I was one of them. They started sending the Brits (or maybe just the men) to the Pleiades to work for them. The conquered people, with me amongst them, were climbing up steps cut into a huge rock face to get to the place where we'd leave for the Pleiades.

Any interpretations?
