My eyes seem to have changed color over time as well. When I was young, my eyes were blue, then green for my High School picture. Following that, my eyes were hazel for years, almost brown. Since retirement, they are showing more or less blue again.

From my High School biology class - the part about basic genetics - that would be impossible. Blue, green and hazel resulted from one genetic 'arrangement' and brown or black was from another.

I have a sister who claimed what one ate affected eye color. I don't have any further ideas; but I like having blue eyes.

I just found out from my aunt that our last name should be "Hannah", which is English. My great-great grandmother got divorced and went back to her maiden name, which is our current last name. That's so weird to think I could've had a different last name. A few other maiden names on my dad's side is Miller and Burns, also English. So, I'm fairly certain the Scandinavian is on my mom's side.

I've never paid to research our family heritage. I'm too afraid to find out who my ancestors were, haha.

All kidding aside, I do know that my background is 3/4 Italian and the other 1/4 is mostly Irish with a trace of Scottish. I've always identified more with my Italian roots (my last name is Italian ). My Italian background is easy to trace because my maternal grandparents emigrated to Canada after WWII. I even know the name of the tiny rural village they grew up in Southern Italy ( in the region of Calabria). They both spoke the regional dialect and I grew up listening to it. I understand a fair amount of Italian. My paternal grandfather is Sicilian and was born in NY. I've been to Italy several times and someday I hope to visit the small village my granpdarents were from

I think I finally got a hit on the Scandinavian. My aunt sent me more maiden names. One was Nowicki, which comes from East Prussia. According to a site I use, East Prussia was first colonized by the Goths, who were Scandinavian.

Another name is Arnold, which is German and Italian, which accounts for the other trace hits.

My aunt just sent me this. The youngest son is my great-grandfather Clark McGirr (my grandpa's father on my dad's side). His father is Glenn McGirr on the Hanna side. The wife is Marianna (Nowicki) McGirr.

The McGirr line came down to the U.S. from Canada. We would've been the Hanna family and was involved in logging and railroad building.

Yes! Thanks to help from my aunt, we were able to trace the McGirr line when they came over from Ireland. John McGirr, born 1824. Came over during the Great Potato Famine to Canada through the Port of Toronto (the same as the city of Toronto?). It's rumored we have some family over that way.

But John made his way to Michigan and they ran a lumber camp. Interesting stuff.

All I know is the bull is:

German - I like to yell angry stuff
Scottish - While in a kilt
Irish - because it's in my nature to love drinking and fighting.

(Oh come on if I cant make stereotype jokes about myself who can I make fun of? )

You ever track down any ancestors? I know bulls don't quite have the life expectancy as humans do, but they track the line of bulls I think.

Well, my great great grandmother is named Elsie. The borden company used her face back many years ago. In fact she is still known today.

They even have a statue of my great grand father on wallstreet. His name was Bob.
