Analysis

I'm just looking for the truth........am I in a forum where people are backstabbing and gossiping at another forum then coming here and pretending to be CC??? I'd rather have the truth come out so I can make a decision with the correct facts...........let the cards fall where they may..........let god aid in letting the sun in the room to shed light upon dark matters so people can see it for what it is

Can we please quit with the fighting and get back to the OP!!!! Enough is enough...

Have been trying to work out what's been going on here, and it's all become such a mess

Am writing this so we can start to organise what's been going on here. While everything is so messy, it won't get better.

I believe this started when Time created thread after thread about Refuge. He felt he was doing the right thing. Those threads brought *a lot* of people into CC to debate both his thoughts on it. It also brought people into CC that hadn't been here before. Father Rick and Belinda then signed up as members.

Meanwhile, many members felt we'd seen a sudden influx of liberal Christians. But they were here to debate Time - that's the thing. They're not around so much anymore.

Things calmed down, and then Father Rick's thread was approved and it kicked off worse than ever. Then threads were started about fundamentalists, and it all kicked off in that direction, too. Then a thread was started about how the problem is legalism, which kicked off yet another round of fights.

I think there's been *so* much misunderstanding and fear. People have battles going on with one person, and we're all fighting battles with groups of people but it's all been so insidious and crazy, it stopped being linear a while back. The confusion just makes it even messier.

The thing is, none of this is of God. For the most part, we're Christians, and that *has* to mean something. If that doesn't, that we worship the Lord has to. We need to stop gossiping, and we need to stop harming one another. This drama has to end, not for our sakes but for God's.

We need to just put all this behind us and move on. We need to move on. Truly. No more threads started about people; no more threats; no more gossip; no more flaming; no more snide comments. We need to treat each other so much better than this. We need to see Jesus in one another, because He lives in us, and we in Him.

We all feel we know who is to "blame", but we're probably all wrong. CC at the moment feels so very dark, and we need to let the light stream in. We need to actively and consciously give this forum back to God. We all need to ask His forgiveness and we all need to be so much kinder to one another.

At this point, it doesn't even matter who's to "blame". We all have to forgive and forget. We have to, because as things stand, they're unbearable. We need to see an increase in forgiveness and love and kindness. Please, let's try.

I would also ask that anyone who doesn't/hasn't belong/ed to CC not post. Thanks.

I would say that the analysis is pretty much correct (and Auntie has the better timeframe) but I really saw it starting when CCC members started in on the definition of Christian debate...this was prior to the "librulls" and IIDB crowd (of which I am a member) but there were many Christians that are 1) conservative in the theological sense and 2) members of this forum that had some serious problems with the proposed definition.

I'm sure we all had a part to play in things...but there were internal issues before this blew wide open.

I agree with Tonks. I was a member of CC long before this particular blowup, and I was one of the early conservative voices against a change in the definition of Christianity for the board. Not all the voices have been liberal.

Yet that discussion, about the definition of Christianity on the board, is what I look back and see as one of the incendiary points for much of the present conflict.

I think what that did is bring their INTEREST here... it was after that that some started thinking to join... which some did.
Thankfully the fruit bears itself out eventually; some sooner than later.

Every thread ends up as a fight fest and I'm daggone sick of it. I'm not leaving this forum, but I've taken a short break until all this constant fighting is done. Just absolutely sick of it. I do not have any anger or bitterness towards anyone, but the fighting needs to stop now! We can be mad as wet hens with people coming into this area, but that's what the ignore feature is for. So let's stop pointing fingers and move forward.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but I've been holding in quite abit...

I'd be interested to know, if you can remember of course, exactly which points got changed? Like from what to what?
It sounds as if you mean it opened a loophole up to a wider application?

ya know, I didn't even think it was harsh Lamb. I thought you were pretty kind and cordial.
I do understand -- I know I'm a part of this process... sometimes it takes voices to either find a problem or hopefully solve it.

Otherwise it just get pushed under the carpet until it's drudged up at a later date. I don't know if this will get solved or how... or if rules have to change.
If you do figure something out, I'd like to hear your ideas.

At first, I was totally on board with the definition of Christianity that was being bantered around. I liked what it had to say, for the most part, although there was some commentary in it that I found to be somewhat reformed in thinking, and that didn't really go with how *I* defined Christianity.

There were some good arguments in that thread, I think. All I really remember now is that it suddenly turned into a thread about and against BeMi, the occult recovery forum, and then all of a sudden EVERY thread turned into that. Threads were even started in numerous other forums that debating the root meaning of the original name of the forum.

It was here that I think Time sorta lost some people. I was one of them. I had had his back and defended him, but I couldn't defend this attack on the recovery forum. I haven't exactly been a staunch supporter of it, but I HAVE been keeping up with the information, the wiki and other posts regarding it. True, there were people who were against it, and the forum made some changes. As I said, I was against it at first, until I read about the changes and heard from people who I love and trust that the forum was doing okay in its beginning stages.

It is good to have zeal for the Lord. But when that zeal turns into something it shouldn't (sort of like the crusades did), then the zeal isn't for the Lord anymore...God works through all things in the end, though, and I'm confident He will do that here, too.

I love ALL my Christian brothers and sisters, even those that have wronged me, and especially those who have forgiven me when I haven't shown that love through my words. I love a Christian who doesn't believe the bible is inerrent as much as I love the Christian that does. And so on and so forth. That's just who I am.

It is my opinion that it's okay for someone who is not a conservative or a member here to post now and then, and do it respectfully. We have lots of these types of people come and post at TCL, and we welcome it. There will sometimes be that poor soul that just doesn't get it, and is reported and disciplined and the system works there. We're not afraid of any hostile takeover, because the system works.

This forum feels its under attack right now. Someone pointed recently, and a long time ago, that when God's work is being done, Satan will try his best to stop it. And he's using both "sides" in this issue to do this. So...because I do not want to work for Satan (the pay STINKS) I'm going to make an effort to ignore any post that seems to invite controversy, or that seems to want to disrupt the harmony of the board. Can others join me in this?
