Name: Anastasia Maldov, a.k.a. Ana Malley
Thread: Prairie Chicken
Age: 23
Job: escaped thief
Appearance: she’s tall and skinny, has brown eyes and long brown hair that’s always in a braid; she wears a denim skirt and a loose cotton button-up shirt, and a bandana around her neck, with sturdy boots and spurs
Personality: she’s friendly and outwardly open, though she keeps her private life closed to others; outwardly she seems careless, but inwardly she’s shrewd and calculating...she likes to tell herself so, anyway
Bio: born to Russian immigrants in New York City, they went west when she was a child, and were killed on the journey in Nebraska, leaving her to be raised by her older brother and sister (Aleksei and Irina). Aleksei, then seventeen, Americanized his name to Alex and began supporting them by robbing wagon trains and stagecoaches. Irina, then fifteen, was disgusted at his means of survival and married the first man who’d have her, moving her to Kansas, where she’s lived since as Mrs. David B. Pullman and the mother of a handful of children. Anastasia lived with Irina till she was seventeen (for six years), then she heard about her brother getting arrested, and she went to go see him in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where he was supposed to be hanged in a couple days. Hooking up with his gang, she helped spring him loose and stayed with him, joining his gang and changing her name to Ana Malley. When she was twenty-two, a robbery went sour and left all the gang dead but her; she managed to escape, but was caught a month later and put in jail. Months later, she and the others in jail escaped and stole a wagon and went to Kansas, ending up in Prairie Chicken just in time for Josiah Honeyface’s scheme to try to take over the town. That’s her story, anyway.
