An unusual Thanksgiving first one without love ones

This was a difficult Thanksgiving. I lost my husband this year in May and lost my niece in January of this year. A lot of tears and emotions. We had a wonderful day with a lot of family and food. It was our first holiday without both of them. It was very strange because the both of them left a big impression on all of us. Both of them were so outgoing. Showed so much care for other people. Has anyone else had unusual thanksgiving, loss of love one?

After my father died there was a whole year of holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and other special days without him. Each one is difficult and a little bit of a challenge.
He too was very outgoing. It does leave a hole in life for many people.

I am so sorry for your loss. I pray that you find comfort and peace.

Thank you for your support. Its such a new experience for me. I have never lost anyone close until this year. This will be a first for me. First for holidays and first lose. I sometimes wonder what makes someone hold on and just make it through without breaking down or getting ups when the holidays come? This christmas is really going to be a challenge.
