• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Some of you may judge me for this, and you have every right, and I might myself if I wasn't me. I was going to post this on the Sexuality Struggles forum, but this is more of a prayer request. If you just want to pray, skip to the bottom. If you want to know why, read on.

(WARNING: very grotesque!!!)

In 8th grade I was an atheist and bisexual and had this huge crush on a guy. Well, only recently have I accepted the Lord and am struggling with my gay porn and male attraction. I just hit an all time low. I have done this before, many months ago, but while I was doing these things this time, I knew the Lord was telling me not to and I've been reading the Bible. I mean, I've changed my life around unlike when I did this before. Well... in my grandparents house just now, on their computer, I watched all sorts of gay porn, and then I masturbated to it, multiple times. I've reached and all new low.

I need the Lord's help and as many prayers as possible to combat this, as I am not going to let it happen to me ever again. It is embarassing to post this, but I've sunk low enough that I have to do so. That said, please, if you will, spare a moment and pray for me to overcome this awful thing.

Lord we come before you and ask Lord for your hedge of protection to surround AnomalousSilance, Lord deliver him from all the traps of the enemy. Grant him your mercy and show him how mighty you are, Lord you a greater in him than he that is the world. Help him Lord to stand fast and not to give in to temptation, bring alongside him those that he will feel comfortable to share and they will help to speak your truth, for Lord your truth is a two edged sword, and no weapon forged against him will prevail.Put him on solid ground so that his feet are steady and he will not fall for Lord your hand is upon him holding him firmly in place. Draw him away from the traps of the world and bring him to a place of restoration.

Dear Lord, I pray for anomalous silence that you would give him the strength to overcome these behaviors. Please show him your love for him and help him to draw near you and you will draw near to him. God bless him in his walk with you. I pray for fellowship for him and good bible teaching. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

I pray for you also, and God will deliver you from this.
Remember Jesus sweat as it were great drops of blood for you before he actually died to save you.
He will deliever you. Why? Because you want him to.
Jesus promised that whoever hungers and thirsts after righteousness shall be filled.

Lord please give anomaloussilence the strength to leave his addiction. Father I pray you lead him NOT into temptation but to deliver him from evil.

touching yourself is a serious addiction that I think can be very underestimated. Give it time. Your faith will save you from it.

Father God, You told us not to judge, we know none of us are worthy of Your sacrifice and are only saved by grace. I ask that You strengthen and encourage this young man, breaking this addiction for life LORD. I pray that every time he is tempted You will remind him of the price You paid, help him to put some worship music on, anything to keep You as his focus. I pray that he not come under condemnation from the enemy, but once again finds forgiveness and a new start by Your blood and grace. Thank You LORD for being greater than all our sin, in Jesus' name, amen.
in Him, Leslie

God, deliver this dear one from this struggle. Take His yoke on you. I understand what you are going through and it is not your battle. You have to trust in the Lord and realize that your weapons are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. First we need to repent to God of our sins, then we need to be delivered and healed from the past. It took a lot of courage for you to post your sins and your desires to be free online. I commend you for this! Next, we need to turn away from these things and to begin to receive the forgivenness of the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. Remember He was tempted in ALL ways like as we are, yet without sin so that he could redeem us and make us as white as snow. Think of good things everytime the old pictures come into your mind. Get some good scriptures to memorize and put on some nice praise and worship songs to clean up your thinking and put on the New Man that God is making of you. This will take time. It will not come over night, but if you continue to try to do better it will become who you are. You went so far into sin and (no condemnation) it will take coming that far back out of sin and into the Light of the Gospel and God's Love for you and further. When you are sure of your healing an deliverance you will want to tell others of your victory so that they will know that they can be free too and God will Bless you abundantly. He will let you know when you are ready to do this. This may be a battle for a long, long while....but, it is better to fight and win than to give up and lose. Keep asking for prayers, pray the blood of Jesus over your mind every day. Do not think badly of yourself, you are not bad. The sin is bad, not you. You are not sin, you are a child of the King! Rise up and worship the Lord and stand up proud that you have the courage to overcome! God Bless you and keep you!
