I'll explain a little of where and what I was doing. I was in Rio Bravo, Mexico an 1hours from Texas. I left March 4th and got back on the 11th. I was working at a deaf school with 31 other team members. This was our second year down there. We have an American friend who is working at the school and in the community. She went on our last year’s team and really felt God wanted her there. Our focus while we are down there is the kids and construction but mainly the kids. There are 27 Deaf students and 5 teachers and 2 missionaries who are running the campus. The wife is pregnant with there first child.

Lets see Saturday: was a crazy day. Customs and crossing the broader went awesome we didn't get stopped...um that evening we played soccer with some of the kids in the community and the deaf students.

Sunday: we went to church and that is always an experience. The missionary from down there interrupts the whole sermon for us since it was in Spanish it’s always neat to see the culture deference’s...

Monday: We got up and worked, it was the first day we got to see the kids which was very exciting. This was my second time down there and I had created a bonded with this little girl named Brenda who I just fell in love with so I was thrilled to get to see her and excited that she remembered me.

Tuesday: Tuesday was a very emotional day for everyone. We worked like normal in the morning and played with the kids in the afternoon, had super Devotions like every night. And then this guy who was visiting there for 2 months and he was a blacksmith. He took us in a garage to tell us some stories while he was making something from a piece of metal. He talked about people in his life that sacrificed things for him. He also talked about how God always provided for him. At the end when he was finished tear started to fall from my eyes when he said with tears flowing that this was the same size 7inch Romanian nail that crucified our Lord and Savior. It took him 45mins-1hour to make ONE nail. It just made me think how much time and preparation that went into Killing our Savior. It was an eye opening experience. I knew that our sins killed him, but to see how the nail was made and to see how much effort was put into the nail it was a powerful experience for me. Yeah so Tuesday was a big day for me.

Wednesday: Wednesday was also a big day. I got to sit in the class room and watch how the students are taught and since I am considering being a sign language interpreter it was a knowledgeable experience. Wednesday was also our Fiesta day where we had 200 hundred Mexicans come to the school. We had the Deaf students from the school and there families, 40 children from an orphanage in Mexico, and also one of the teachers invited people from her church. We feed 200 people not including the staff and our team. We also signed two songs that were being played in Spanish, one skit and an illusion, and then at the end we were able to share the gospel which was a great opportunity.

Thursday: Again we worked in the morning and afternoon. It was a little different for us this day because there was a team visiting. Which was fine but it was also frustrating because this was one of our last days with the kids. The kids stopped doing school early to play with the other team of 20members that was visiting them, and while we continued working. It was kind of Humbling (after I stopped pouting) to see another team that loved them just like us. Then we continued working and later went out to eat for dinner.

Friday: Friday was our sad day as this was the last day with the kids. It was sad to see them get on the bus and leave. My little girl Brenda was crying and it was sad to see her cry be exciting to see that I can make an impression on a young girls life. Friday was also are off day where we got to go to the market place. Since I had been there last year I decided to treat myself and get my nails done at the market place with 5other team member.

Saturday: We got up said our Good-byes to the missionaries and left for the airport we crossed the broader with No problems what so ever and we didn’t have to get off the bus which the missionary said that hasn’t happened in a long time.

If you could continue to pray for me I am prayerfully considering moving down there for the summer or at least spending a week or two there during the summer. I would be living with a friend that is working at the campus as a fill in teacher and in the community. I would be helping build relationships between the Deaf students and teens and children in the community. I would also be helping fix up/build a playground, and severing food in the community center. I’m not sure what God wants me to do yet, but I feel like I left my heart in Mexico when I left. I love the kids and I think it could be a real growing experience since I am considering sign language as a career. So please continue to pray. Thank You again for the prayers. Sorry this was so long I really wanted to share with everyone how God worked in me.

That is so cool that you got to experience that trip again. I am so glad that you got to share God's word with the deaf and spend time with the children. I will keep praying for you so that you can go back. I would love to go on a missions trip sometime in my life but i havent had the financial means to have it happen. But i know that it God wants it to happen then it will happen. But I am so excited to see that you and the others are out there doing God's work. Take care and God Bless.
