  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Romans 12:9-10 NIV

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

If we love God with this kind of love we prefer what God prefers. And he prefers what is holy, righteous, godly, morally pure, honest, faithful, and obedient to him and to his word. We choose his choices. And he chooses for us to die with him to sin and live to him and to his righteousness. So, we prefer to live through Christ, to have Christ live his life through us, and for us to actively be doing his will by his power and in his strength and wisdom.

And so this kind of love also hates what is evil because evil is the opposite of love; it is opposed to love. For it is all about selfishness, pride, wickedness, immorality, impurity, lying, cheating, stealing, murdering and unfaithfulness, etc. So those who make evil (sin) their practice cannot love others with this kind of love. They are incapable of such a love as this because God is love and by their evil deeds they are living in opposition to God.

And then we are to cling to what is good, to hold on to what is good and righteous and pure and godly while we cast off all that is hateful and sinful and unloving. For this is why Jesus died on that cross, not just to forgive us our sins so when we die we can go to heaven, but to deliver us out of our slavery (addiction) to sin so we can now, in his power and strength, live as servants of righteousness in walks of obedience to our Lord Jesus.

So, if we are devoted to one another as brothers and sisters in Christ in this kind of love that we are to have for one another, then we are not going to sin against our Christian brothers and sisters habitually, deliberately, and even premeditatedly, or against our own flesh and blood families, or against any human being living on this earth. But we will choose to love as God loves in honesty, moral purity, godliness, righteousness, and faithfulness.

And if we honor our fellow Christians (followers of Jesus Christ) above ourselves, or if we do so to any other human being, we will tell them the truth, in love. We will not lie to them. We will willingly lay down our lives and be willing to be accused falsely and be hated and rejected for the sake of the gospel and for the sake of the salvation of human lives in order to see them be free from slavery to sin and walking in holiness and in righteousness from now to eternity. For this is what genuine love looks like.

In Harmony

An Original Work / September 2, 2012
Based off Ro. 12:9-21; 1 Pet. 3:8-17

Love each other truly.
Cling to what is good.
Hate all that is evil.
Never lack in zeal.
Serve the Lord with fervor.
Joyful in hope be;
Patient in affliction;
Praying faithfully.
Honor one another.
Live in harmony.

Share with all God’s people
Who are found in need.
Do not be conceited.
Sympathetic be.
Love, and show compassion
In humility.
Keep your tongue from evil.
Peaceful you must be.
Honor one another.
Live in harmony.

God sees who are righteous;
Listens to their prayers.
But He’s against evil –
Is His to avenge.
Do not fear what they fear.
Suffer patiently.
In your hearts, make Christ Lord.
Serve Him faithfully.
Honor one another.
Live in harmony.
