am i going to hell, in your eyes?
i consider myself a christian.
i love God and follow Christ.
so why am i going to hell?

All of us are sinners and, apart from Christ, are going to Hell.

The problem is that you've chosen to tie yourself to a religion that teaches a Jesus other than the Biblical Jesus and a means of salvation other than the Biblical means of salvation.

Obviously, you are concerned with following Jesus but, at the end of the day, the question becomes not "are you following Christ", but "which Christ are you following".

The Christ of Mormonism, the man who was elevated to godhood status by keeping Heavenly Father's laws (which, of course begs the question, who's laws did Heavenly Father have to keep in order to become a god), the man who is a created being and "spirit-brother of Lucifer", cannot save you.

Only the sinless Christ of the Bible, the one who created all that is created, who has always been God, and always will be God, can save.

i consider myself to be following Christ.

Being a Mormon is incompatible with following Christ. The Bible is clear that if we're following Christ, we'll love sound doctrine and hate Unbiblical doctrines. More to the point, it tells us that if we're following Christ, we'll desire to be a part of His church.

so the mormon's belive in a different Jesus then we do or somthing like that or am i way off?

Mormons believe that Jesus is a created being and "spirit-brother" of Lucifer.

The Bible teaches that Jesus is the Creator.

Mormonism teaches that Jesus is the offspring of a literal, physical relationship between God the Father and Mary.

The Bible teaches that Mary was, at that time, a virgin who became pregnant as a miraculous act of the Holy Spirit.

Mormonism teaches that Jesus was a man who ascended to godhood status only after keeping the laws of "Heavenly Father" (which begs the question, who's laws did Heavenly Father have to keep in order to become a god?).

The Bible teaches that Jesus was always God. There was never a time when Jesus was anything less than 100% God Almighty.

Mormonism teaches that Christ paid the Atonement by His emotional suffering in the Garden of Gethsemene.

The Bible teaches that He paid the atonement by dying on the cross in our place.

Mormonism teaches that, after His resurrection, Jesus came to North America.

The Bible teaches that He ascended to the right hand of the Father.

So, yes, they teach a drastically different Jesus than the Bible teaches.

It's not just Christians who say the Jesus of the Mormons is different. Mormon leaders also teach that their Jesus is another Jesus.

See: http://www.watchman.org/lds/gbhjesus.htm

This situation is written about in II Corinthians.

2Co 11:3-4 NET.
(3)
But I am afraid that just as the serpent deceived Eve by his treachery, your minds may be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
(4) For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus different from the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit than the one you received, or a different gospel than the one you accepted, you put up with it well enough!

2Co 11:12-15 NET.
(12)
And what I am doing I will continue to do, so that I may eliminate any opportunity for those who want a chance to be regarded as our equals in the things they boast about.
(13) For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
(14) And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
(15) Therefore it is not surprising his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will correspond to their actions.
Hope that helps you understand what you are dealing with in the Mormon church.

I believe you are trying to get to Heaven, Just as am I and everyone else that seeks to follow Christ.

If this is the path that you have chosen, and you seek Christ, and seek salvation, then I can only say, I hope we see each other in Heaven.

God Bless

Well, as I understand it Mormonism teaches that what man is God once was, and what God is man will one day be. That is a heresy and a blasphemy to us.

BloodFire, I believe, having read some of your posts, that you are on your way to eventually leaving the LDS church and following your heart which is with Jesus. I sense that you are on a journey...... I don't know how far along that path you are, so I cannot say where you would go if you were to die today.

blessings and love

If you follow Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, then you will join Him in His Kingdom of Heaven when the time shall come. You will not go to hell.
