am i gifted

[EPHESIANS6:10-11]

av been hearing and seeing things for a long time my psych , therapist and husband believe thats its to do with my mental health yes i have OCD and depression ... the kind of things i see are demons , angels , dead people ( mainly my step dad who died 4 years ago from suicide ) and a hidden figure
unsure if i have gifts i was baptized after i was born but after i was 15 i left the church ( Catholic ) started to follow the occult and got a tattoo of a pentagram on my wrist( i know regret this and want to get another tattoo over it ) after that i followed Islam but then left it and became back to church as i said before i have OCD so i have blasphemous thoughts and other problems i have started to go to a Baptist church for the last few weeks and i really like it there , told my husband i want to be baptized again my husband is an atheist he come to the church services with me but he says he dont believe in God but because his family celebrate Christmas he kinda says he should follow in that tradition my husband thinks am going too fast into the church i think he is worried i will burn myself out or something he keeps saying it depends on my mental health
my husband dont believe i have gifts he just says am ill
but could there be a possibility that i have gifts ?

I think that the word 'gifts' can be defined in all sorts of ways.

But before God the main thing is quietly and confidently to feed prayerfully day by day on His Word, the Bible and follow the Lord Jesus. Then, if opportunities to help others arise, they can be taken, but always as we live in accordance with His revealed will.

been getting involved with the church more and am feeling good about that i feel this is the closest av been to Jesus in a very long time even my therapist says there is a change in me ...feel positive for the first time in a long while and i feel its because i have Jesus in my life

It's natural for us to be interested in the supernatural. G_d is Spirit (John 4:24).

As far as the blasphemous thoughts, we're to take every thought captive (II Cor 10:5) and renew our minds with His Word (Rom 12:2) such as "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Isa 26:3; "And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God." Eph 3:17-19

I Cor 12:7 says that every believer has a G_dly spiritual gift. They're to benefit the body of Christ. His spiritual gifts are free though there are learning processes - such as the original 12 disciples were with Him for 3.5 years while He was on earth.

Encouraging you to continue to read The Bible, too. Because we do want to keep the focus on G_d (Yahweh) and developing a relationship with Him as our priority.

One thing with gifts is unless they fall into mainstream ones everyone has they tend to get labelled as incompatible with Christianity. If you think you have some God might use sometimes is good to keep it to yourself and ask God to use you and see how that pans out, if your Gifts lead others to Christ you know where they come from.

It really pays to be a bit skeptical of what's going on especially if you are fixating on supernatural things that may or may not be there too much. If a Doc checks you out and has no explanation and you check out ok, you have ruled out your mind generating it because of a mental or body chemistry imbalance and your back to unexplained and probably in the spiritual realm.

I have a couple of things myself I dont bother telling people anymore because they weird for a christian to have and I got checked out fully by doctors who had no explanation so I wait for God to show me if it can be used somewhere.

Best of luck, its not easy but the uncertainty of times like this can make you walk closer to the lord and thats now where you need to be.

Actually The Word says: "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38 "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." Rom 8:9

Hello! It is a good question. Before I became a born-again Christian, I used to date a Catholic medium who "saw dead people" and angels, and demons. It can be very confusing. When I was around her, I began seeing things, so I realized she was legitimately seeing things that existed, but that others could not see.

But after I became a Christian, I learned some more about spirits and angels. False deceiving spirits, sent by satan can appear as deceased relatives. In Islam, they call these entities qarin. In Christianity, we just call them "deceiving spirits".

No healthy person should see "deceiving spirits" constantly. Nor see angels or demons constantly.

Whether what you're seeing is real, or fabricated by your mind, I think either way you should be ignoring these things you see.

From a Christian perspective, you would not have any Christian spiritual gifts until after you get born again and follow Jesus. Then Jesus will certainly give you spiritual gifts in your life.

But if you're not a follower of Christ, then what is going on is not from Christ. It is some manner of corruption, and so even if it were real, following it wouldn't be healthy for you.

It's best to ignore these things, I believe, and it could also be good to talk them over with a good therapist about how you should deal with it mentally and with others.
