• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If I am, would any of you be able to inform me of any organizations that offer 10 step recovery programs for text-aholics?

How often do you all text? Do any of you text more? Or do you text less? :)

I hate how it takes 20 minutes for me to type a single message.
XT9, brotha. XT9.

I text several times a day - but only to a handful of people. I have no idea what my count is, but I am def not a text-a-holic. I much prefer face to face or phone calls...although IM runs a close 2nd/3rd.
I prefer face to face as well. But for some reason, I like to text a lot too.

Yup, you're a text-a-holic.

My phone is a few years old, so it doesn't have a full keyboard either. I'm fine with that. I don't text anyone anyway. I'm just a complete non-chatter. I don't text, I don't call, I don't IM, I rarely email.

The texting thing is still kind of new to me, but I will say I like texting stuff like "wanna play 9?" or "do I need to bring something to the get-together?" or "Hope you have a good day."

Stuff like that saves me having to stop what I am doing and have a phone conversation.

I don't reply to about 90% of texts that I get especially those spam types.

Why? You always have so much to say on here. :)

Maybe it's my author's nature. Writing what I want to say just comes naturally :) And I'm not really conversing here, I'm just throwing out random comments or responding to questions. Believe me, I do probably 75% of my "talking" here on CF. You'll almost never find me on a phone.

No I'm only allowed 250 a month so I don't dare go above that, because we all know Verizon charges heavily for txts outside the plan. :) Some people think I txt too much, but it's obvious here I do not. :D :p

I do like to txt though and get messages.

So to me...you do txt a lot.

Do you want to point me in the direction of Text-aholics Anonymous? :p

yes you're a text-aholic to the max :p

i think i probably only text a few times a month but thats mainly because no one else likes texting otherwise i'd probably be as addicted to texting as you Ernest :holy:
Haha, you have "text-aholic tendencies", Ann. The only thing stopping you from being one is opportunity. :ebil:

hehe I think txting is fine if you have unlimited txts. Besides, I see it as...I like getting txts, so you must be making a lot of people happy. :p
Well, SOMEtimes. :holy:

OK why are people saying "txt" instead of "text"? It's not like it saves time...it's one letter different!

*Desperately dons her "Save The English Language!" tshirt*

I know why Wiley's texting so much.

And so does everyone else here :D
