  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

^^ that is interesting! Where did you purchase this from?

I have a dresser but it's full with clothes. I've got diapers in baskets right now on top of that & in this cute pail thing. But I was thinking what could I use to put baskets on/in that doesn't take up much space.

Oh my gosh glad he is ok! How did he manage that? I thought about that just getting one of those changing pads & not worrying with some bulky table. The changing table I was looking at has bars around the top kinda, does yours? I need more storage is all. Maybe I'll look into some kind of shelving.

Okay, am I the only one who thought it was strange that you were asking about a change table for storage? :sorry:

Anyway, we've never had a change table. Baby changed on the floor, bed etc. Babies clothes are wherever they will fit- usually I free up a drawer in someone else's dresser. Jael's clothes for the first yr were in a cardboard box in the linen cupboard :). This next baby will get the bottom drawer in my bedside chest.

Nappies have always been folded on a thing called a bakers rack- a wire 3 shelf thing that's about 2 feet wide. I've got no idea about over there, but here they are sold for decoration, putting pot plants on or folded towels etc. We got ours cheap in a discount shop. The bakers rack itself has been in a different spot depending on what house we were living in- laundry, our bedroom, corner of the lounge room etc.

Storage aspect makes sense to me.

We have a changing table that has bars on all four sides, but stupid me, I let him sit up while he was on it that time. I had my hand on him and everything, but when I turned just a little to grab something off the dresser with my other hand, he took the opportunity to reach over the edge of the table and down he went!! Fortunately, the diaper stacker and our little waste paper basket broke most of his fall. I caught him before he hit the ground. It was scary though. He didn't cry much, and I kept moving all of his limbs to make sure he didn't dislocate anything.
