Alternative-band suggestions anyone?

I am absolutely crazy about Skillet and Red..:) Not just because they are blessed with so much talent, but also because I'd like to believe they're both Christian bands..

I'm struggling to found bands/artists with similar music tough? :o
Anyone have some cool stuff they're listening to at the moment?
I'd really like to expand some horizons :sorry:

I'm an atheist, but I LOVE Skillet.

They're brilliant.

I wish I could give you a good band for specifically what you're looking for. 8c I can advise you the way I advise everyone:

Give I Am Ghost a go. Once you get past the slightly-creepy/noisy intros, they're really quite brilliant.

The sun, outside
Look at these glass-shaped walls
We'll burn the flesh off all these paper dolls!

Good luck finding what you're looking for.

I'm guessing that, because you grouped Skillet and Red together, you mean Skillet as they have been the last couple or three albums, and not their earlier material? But then that 'expanding your horizons' comment makes me think that it doesn't matter. For good measure, though - at least grab Invincible and Alien Youth. Check out Christianindustrial.net and Flaming Fish, too.

The local alternative station in my area has a program on Sunday nights dedicated strictly to playing Classic Alternative (i.e. pretty much any stuff from before Grunge broke into the mainstream, although some of the lesser-known mainstream tracks get played), but sadly it looks like they no longer put the playlists for the individual shows up anymore, and took down the ones that were there. They once played three Sisters of Mercy tracks back-to-back-to-back: "More", "Temple of Love 1992", and "This Corrosion"...which makes that nearly an entire half-hour of pure awesome, IMO. VH1 Classic also has/had (I haven't checked in three or four years) a similar program.

Aah thanks guys :)

I am not currently familiar with any of your suggestions but I'm very curious to hear them.

Kitty, I don't know if you're a Red fan, but by your description of 'I am ghost' they do sound rather similar? Perhaps you would appreciate their music.

Anyway, thanks again :)

Well, some great bands that I enjoy listening to are Bad Religion, NoFX, Rise Against, and The Ramones.
But if those bands aren't the genre you are looking for, then maybe you would like Say Anything, Motion City Soundtrack, or All Time Low.
They're all just bands that I think are pretty great.

I love Bad Religions song about the hills of Los Angeles burning.
