So, if a non-human appeared in your living room with a highly advanced teleportation device and tells you "Hi, I am Blurrr from the planet Omicron Persii 8" in english... you would consider the life of this creature to be of the same value as a bird, cockroach or rabbit?
Seriously?
One can ever find?
How and when did you explore the entire universe and the trillions upon trillions of planets?
You didn't? Then on what basis do you make this claim to knowledge?
I feel like I should report this post because of that last part.
I wonder what would happen if I would bluntly state here that theists are useless and meaningless.
Why is that simply ridiculous?
Couldn't your god make a gazillion more jesus bodies and repeat it till infinity?
I mean, he is all powerfull, right?
Yes. That tells how unique human is. It is a 0/1 choice.
People will ask you why. Can you defend it?
I can defend my claim according to the Bible. It is, in fact, a very simply job.
No. God can not.
No, that doesn't tell anything about humans.
It only tells something about how you view the world, how you have a very serious superiority complex and how you consider yourself to be the center of the universe.
It tells us about your delusions of grandeur and your general intolerance.
Yes, it does.
No, I can not defend it because I am too smart to make such generalizing, insulting, condescending and, frankly, hateful statements.
yea, yea....
The KKK also felt like they could defend their claims with the bible.
In reality though, they are just people full of hate.
I also note that you didn't even bother to retract your statement, or at least nuance it a bit.
So it seems you stand by it.
I guess I should thank you for showing your true colors.
Your god can created a universe with billions of galaxies, trillions of stars, gazitrillion of planets, with (at leat on one planet) millions and millions of species....
But somehow, he is capable of taking on a human body ONLY ONCE?
This not sense does make.
No. KKK can NOT defend their ideology according to the Bible.
They would disagree.
They would also say to you that you cannot defend your ideology according to the bible.
Just like in the other thread, where nobody could agree on what genesis actually says.
They won't say that. They would only stick on theirs. That is typical.
Most people are not careful thinkers. That is why most of them do not fit for a good scientists.
I have to admit this, I am basing this argument on an insight from a Christian.
I asked about the theology of the multiverse, and he responded with the question would it make sense for Jesus to save alll of the multiverse, or just us on this planet.
If there is a God, and Jesus is God, then it seems like he is a God only for us, here, on Earth.
But if there are other lifeforms, then it makes sense that God is not just here for us, but for every "intelligent lifeform".
If ET civilisations exist, and they have religion, maybe they believe in avatars (divine manifestations in their own bodily form)...
But for me the idea of a transcendent God, one god for the whole universe or multiverse, makes sense.
One god for all possible worlds, not just ours.
Yes, when you have faith, you have a way. No faith, no way.
No, what we see is that other religions can't come up with a solution to the problem of sin. What you are stating is that God is incapable of finding another solution.
Where did he say he can't do things? I know the idea is that he can't do evil, but Jesus also says "all things are possible" through God. So unless you are stating that God having other children besides us is evil, I don't see how you can say God can't make other people somewhere else in the Universe.No. God can not do many things. He told us so.
Well, I'm playing devil's advocate here, not trying to attack Christian faith directly. I'm just attacking the notions that people put into their faith without their faith giving those notions to them. People seem to think that they are special, but the Bible doesn't actually say that, as far as I can tell. And considering the fact that none of the Christians have quoted any scripture yet, it is looking likely that I am right on this one. That's one way of looking at it. Another would be to say that christianity invented the problem of sin...just so that it could give mankind a need for salvation.
Here is the key: There is NO other way to solve the problem of sin. We see this clearly from other religions of the world.
Trusting that something is true and knowing that something is true aren't the same thing. You may trust what christian theology implies about the existence of other intelligent life forms...but you don't know if they exist or not.
That said, regardless of what you may think the "meaning" of atheists is or isn't...as far as usefulness goes, this atheist just taught you the difference between having faith in something and knowing something. No need to thank me, virtue is it's own reward.
Where did he say he can't do things? I know the idea is that he can't do evil, but Jesus also says "all things are possible" through God. So unless you are stating that God having other children besides us is evil, I don't see how you can say God can't make other people somewhere else in the Universe.
