Okay, for some reason my post was considered for debate, though it wasn't, and was deleted from the wiki 2 thread, so I'll start this new thread. Yes, the mod who deleted the post is on the other side in this discussion in the wiki. Oh well...
I posted to alert all of you that we need your participation in the wiki discussion.
We are discussing and voting on a more specific atonement statement concerning the death of Jesus Christ.
Right now, those involved are split. A couple of us are wanting to stick with what Scripture actually says, and some are opting to go with a distinctive WoF belief that goes beyond what Scripture says.
We have requested the others provide Scripture that states what their statements of faith are saying on this subject, and they haven't shown it.
Please participate and prayerfully with Scripture in mind help us decide which should be used for the WoF Statement of Faith. And remember, our statement about Scripture says it is our final authority over personal opinions, visions, etc. Please keep that in the front of your mind while making your decision. None of our statements of faith should deviate from what can be stated straight from Scripture, if we are to stay true to our WoF belief in Scripture being our final authority of faith and practice.
Thank you for your participating so we can get past this and move on to finishing the SoF.
