1 corinth 3 v 10-15

Using the gift that God gave me, i did the work of an expert builder and laid the foundation, and someone else is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds. For God has already placed Jesus Christ as the one and only foundation, and no other foundation can be laid. Some will use gold or silver or precious stones in building on the foundation; Others will use wood or grass or straw. And the quality of each persons work will be revealed on the day that Christ exposes it. For on that day fire will test it and show its real quality. If what was built on the foundation survives, the builder will recieve a reward. But if anyones work is burnt up, then he will lose it but he himself will be saved, as if he had escaped through the fire.

so this is what i think it means = the people that use gold silver and precious stones are the ones useing the bible, truth, humility, forgivness, common sense, Jesus, charity things like that.
the ones useing wood, grass and straw they are building with self interest, ego, greed, profit, lies, disillusionment, control, things like that.
on the day of Christ his fire will burn up all the wood, grass and straw and leave only the gold, silver and precious stones.
the person that built with wood grass and straw will be saved because the corner stone of our religion is Jesus and faith in him, so the person will survive because he was saved by his faith, but all his work will be lost.

I think your post is accurate, but the title is misleading. It is not denominations that will be tested by fire, but the works of individuals. There is a big difference.

Very true, however don't forget that the bible is clear that there will be A remnant church... there will not be churches plural, it will be one united church which follows the bible completely and who are led by the holy spirit: Gods last day remnant church... these will be those who are tried in the fire...

I agree with this post completely, but I would like to add that the remnant are not gathered in one church but are scattered about in all the churches and denominations through out the world. They are the true believers with in the churches that are for the most part completely deceived and corrupt.

But the remnant will overcome and become God's true church and will enter into the millennium as kings and priests of God.

Believers are scattered among those denominations that assent to justification by faith, though it is probably now true that a majority of believers have abandoned denominations for independents and house churches. The denoms are mostly now so apostate that it is quite difficult for a born again person to make compromise enough to stay with them.

This is clearly Christians coming out of false churches... again I am not bashing any churches or denominations, I believe there are many good people in every church which are living upto what they know and they will be saved because of it... but I am just quoting what the Bible says...

Good post. In the bible, Paul called the churches the churches of God or church of the saints in one verse...1 Cor 11:16, 1 Cor 14:33, 1Thess 2:14, 2 Thess 1:4. Every denominational name sprung from something other then the church of God, and then some of those split off into other associated denominations. No wonder we have so much deception that has ventured off from the true churches of God. I have seen so many absolutely unbiblical teachings right here on this very site, and thank God He is the one who knows who truly are His.
God gave every believer His Holy Spirit. He is our teacher in the Word, and we should not be having anyone else guide us to the truth....not even our Pastors. I believe everyone should check with the bible what the Pastor is spouting from the pulpit. If it doesn't line up, spit out the hay!! These are the last days I believe, and Jesus warned about not listening to unsound doctrine..or the doctrines of devils. It is prevalent in the churches now..apostasy has come.

The apostasy has come and we both know that is the last stage b4 the tribulation. We are living in very dangerous days indeed.

Great postings.... You should all do a study on fire in the Bible; it is an awesome study.

God will never abandon anyone. He will temporarily remove us from positive manifestations of His presence, but He will never abandon us. During the ages to come, His love will keep on being manifested until everyone is responding to it in a positive loving way. God will change the negative past into a glorious positive for everyone.
Fire makes glass malleable, and God's fire will make us malleable so that we will release ourselves into His hands. Iron ore is useless until it is put into the fire to remove the slag. The result is pig-iron which is still useless. But through a second firing with molten salt, the very finest of steel is made. Molten salt rearranges the molecules so they are all going in the same direction. The finest of steel is used in automobile springs. They absorb the road-shock so you can ride in comfort. When all the "molecules" of our spirit cooperate with each other and cease their internal struggle, there will be a reconciliation to God's will and the resulting enjoyment of His positive blessings. God's fire will get rid of everything in everyone that causes them to be useless.

In England, they manufacture a certain kind of chinaware that is put through the fire eighteen times. The resulting product will not shatter, but will bounce when dropped, When God has finished with everyone, He will have purged out all of the dross so that when they receive a blow, it will only propel them higher into the positive realms, "For everyone shall be salted with fire." I totally agree. In the final last analysis there wont be all these religions you know. Its either you are on God's side or not. Its either you take the mark of the beast or not. That time is when Jesus says that we will be one fold.
