I saw "Alexander" in the theatres when it first came out and I thought it was a really good film. I have not read a lot of history on Alexander, so I can't tell you whether or not it was historically accurate, but my mother who is an avid history buff and teacher said it was pretty good and that the representations of his culture were accurate. If men kissing offends you, you might be offended, but in my opinion they didn't show a lot of gratuitious making out for shock value but rather kept it to a minimum to explain about the culture in the times he lived in. I only mention it since some people were really upset about it when the film first came out. Overall I think it's good. Hope you like it.

It was a big mess. The accents for the actors were off. The story had no focus. The battle scenes were badly directed. Eric Snider described "Alexander" perfectly:

"Oliver Stone doesn't just create trainwrecks. He knocks the train off the rails, sets it on fire, then kills every person onboard. (And takes three hours to do it.)"

..no wonder that cinema didn't have a Sat pm show on that 2nd Sat, as they had on the 1st, so I had a nice walk instead of wasting 3 hours!
