As some of you may know, I had the pleasure of attending the Answers in Genesis conference in Waco, TX this past weekend. It was very informative and really put a lot of things into perspective (which is something that I really needed). The conference was held Friday evening and all day Saturday. Two speakers were there Ken Ham and Dr. David Menton, as well as the music by Buddy Davis.
Ill only go over the main points.
It started with Ken Hams presentation Genesis: Key to Reclaiming the Culture. In this presentation, he illustrated the problems with the various liberal theologies that permeate the Christian culture. The issues revolving around losing Biblical Authority and how losing that and losing the foundations undermines the entire gospel. It really brought things into perspective.
Dr. David Menton made a presentation on the anatomy of the human eye and ear. This one you really had to be there. All I can say about it is I can see no way that anyone could believe that these two organs evolved. Truly amazing.
Saturday, Ken presented his One Blood the Biblical Answer to Racism. Basically, there is only one race of humans since we all come from Adam and Eve, and later on Noah and his family. A few interesting points in this one, but not a lot new.
Dr. Menton gave a presentation on birds and made several comparisons with reptiles and pretty much showed how asinine the idea of them evolving from dinosaurs is. He went into great detail on bird anatomy and the structure of feathers. Some of it I knew, but I lacked the details that he gave. It was impressive.
After lunch, they played a video called What is the Best Evidence that God Created? by Carl Kerby. He had some video clips from The Discovery Channel that showed some amazing creatures. Everyone should get this video.
Ken followed with Why Wont They Listen? How to Evangelize an Increasingly Secular World where he shows how the lack of knowledge or lack of acceptance of the foundation (Genesis) has changed the way witnessing should be done.
If you would like more details, just ask. Also, Im sure many details can be found on their website.
God bless
