  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My dog is fast and smart, but silly, when shes having fun she pins her ears back and put a lead in her mouth, if she is not happy she will roll her eyes and pin her tail between her legs or even give me a nip.

she is really good with jumping, i have also gotten her to do figure of eight and barrel racing(joggin around bins in a triangle(normally barell) up until the last bin turn and she full on bolts exactly how it suppost to be done.

jumping up and down stairs is no trouble either, Running a flight of 12 stair, is not trouble either.

she also does this trick when i have her on thge leadrope, she evebtually puts it in her mouth, ithurn the lead one way, she does a tight circle, then a turn it the other way she does another tight circle.

What other activities could i do? to increase her fitness, and give a good muscle tone?

SHe is Golden Retriever X Labrador.
P.S (Does anyone know whether htey have Labrador x Golden Retriever RACING dogs?

Hi there! I'm not a training authority, but I have a 2 1/2 year old golden retriever and a 5 1/2 month old chocolate lab puppy. One thing I will say is that you need to address the grabbing the lead in the mouth thing (I'm assuming this is when you have her on the lead). First, you need to get her some basic obdience training... then you can go from there with agility, advanced obdience, etc.

Our golden has had basic obdience, and I would love to get him into advanced obdience to the possible end of a therapy dog (to visit rest homes, for example). The lab, however, is extremely agile, and once he has his basic obdience, I would like him to perhaps do jump/swim competitions (where the handler throws a floating toy into the water as the dog chases it down a pier -- it's a distance jump competition).

With any dog, but with a golden/lab cross (both of which are my experience), you cannot go wrong with at least basic obdience training from a professional! Good luck!
