But again, we think we understand time because we see time from the view of classical physics. And we know that understanding does not extend to the space. So, regards to the OP, we still do not understand how long the 6000 years really is. It could be, in fact, forever.
I have a question , forgive me if it is in the wrong thread.
It the universe was indeed created in 7 days, how is it that light from stars that are millions of light years away and still moving away from us, has managed to reach us? This doesn’t seem to bode well for arguing that the world is circa 10,000 years old! (God created the heaven and the earth and the stars)
I would be interested in some scientific answers.
Guys Guys Guys………..
We are gone waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy off the main point of the thread here.
It is clear that one revolution of the earth makes a day and one orbit around the sun a year.
This however is immaterial when dealing with a measurable dimension as the speed of light which can be clearly defined, is measurable.
I am still waiting for an answer to this specific question. (see original thread).
Surely this is at least one Achilles heel of Young earth Theory!!!
Hi, Open --- nice to meet you ---
When God created the universe, He did it in the palm of His hand.
[bible]Isaiah 40:12[/bible]
This means that at one time, the universe was much, much closer together.
Following that --- He stretched the universe to its current dimension ---
[bible]Psalm 104:2[/bible]
Take a balloon, put dots on it, then blow the balloon up. Notice the dots are farther apart now?
Hi ‘Defender of the Faith’.
I don’t think I’ll even bother replying to that one. Regrettably young earthers/creationists seem to have made up your mind that ‘God did it’ and will not tolerate any other view.
Unfortunately the creationist/young earth viewpoint never addresses scientific issues presented but tend to throw out a load of questions, ignore the replies and then claim victory, or just disappear in to the ether. (Just look at this section of the Fourms site).
This is frighteningly ignorant and undermines the credibility of such exponents. But I guess you just can’t reason with stupidity!!!
Nothing personal but at least the evolutionists provide evidence for their claims. And bundles of it.
You're welcome ---

All the evidence points to Mr ‘Defender of the faith’ is having a laugh and not interested in logical discussion.
If I was to address the Isaiah verse, (I know, I know, I’m being drawn in) I could point out that had God stretched out the heavens light would still travel at the same speed, so assuming he did so faster that the speed of light, we should see gaps in the light or some similar phenomena.
As we can measure the speed of light from the sun without interruption and those stars far away start (over 10,000 light years) as having the same properties, one can conclude that the conclusion drawn by Mr Defender is erroneous.
Can I ask a personal question Mr Defender.
Why are you scared to debate the facts outside biblical references.
The truth is the truth. If you are sure of your position then surely you can defend it, or at least offer some proofs.
Come on. Before I turn all atheist. (You wouldn’t want that would you?)
Quoted because I would really like this answered.
And yet you've answered it zero times.Which time? Haven't you asked me this about three times now?
And yet you've answered it zero times.
Post count does not intelligence make.AV1611VET = 78,488

And you can make a statement like this?
Yes, and I'd be willing to bet that nowhere in those 78,488 posts you've made is a post explaining where in the Bible embedded age is talked about. Partially because a significant fraction of those posts have been about you training up your reputation in the number games sections.AV1611VET = 78,488

And you can make a statement like this?
At least, and like Pwnzerfaust said, I haven't received an answer.

AV, work on your reading comprehension. I asked for a verse. You didn't give me a single one. You're supposedly a Bible literalist, what part of the Bible makes you think that Embedded Age is correct? Give me a verse!
(as a side note, you seem to have attributed a quote of Chalnoth's to me in post 55)
