I know you don't have much respect for academia, but it is stronger than you think. Trump can inconvenience Harvard financially, but the Western cultural tradition which it represents is beyond even his powers to destroy. When all is said and done, Trump and his supporters will still be deplorable and the intellectual light in which we see that to be true will not have been extinguished. Harvard will just be a little poorer, that's all, but it will have gained in reputation.

Universities are supposed to be where students can think and challenge ideas rather than a culture of repression. Our country fought a civil war and defeated slavery. Harvard used to have quotas for Jews, but again a war was fought, a world war, and again we won. This resurgence of antisemitism and racism will be defeated as well.

What you call "antisemitism" and "racism" are straw men.

The progressive culture at Harvard has been taking some hits.
Where do you see the progressive culture displayed in this story about photographs taken by a 19th century anti-evolutionary scientist whose theories of separate creation of the races has been dead for more than a century?

Who's playing the 'victim card' here, looking for a benefit?

"Harvard University has repeatedly failed to confront the pervasive race discrimination and anti-Semitic harassment plaguing its campus. This is just the latest chapter in Harvard’s long-standing policy and practice of discriminating on the basis of race as recognized by the Supreme Court in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, where the Court rebuked Harvard for its unlawful race discrimination in admissions."

"Instead of protecting its students, Harvard has let crime rates skyrocket, enacted racist DEI practices, and accepted boatloads of cash from foreign governments and donors."

Why would Harvard, with all of their wealthy progressives, hold out fro 15 years? These are the descendants of slaves--they deserved better.

in your conservative view, what sort of reparations did the descendants of slaves deserve for this? How was Harvard progressive for denying it for so long?

Why not admit that your thread is a kneejerk reaction to Harvard taking an L, regardless of the facts?

^_^ Which has more diversity of viewpoints, Harvard or Liberty University? ^_^ Which school makes students sign a faith pledge, Berkley or Loyola? ^_^

Certainly I expect Liberty and Loyola would allow more free speech and discussion of alternate viewpoints--without retaliating against students.

Liberty students can't even read or hear forbidden ideas, much less express them.

Statement on Entertainment, Arts, and Media
Liberty University maintains a conservative approach to the arts and entertainment. The students of Liberty University are expected to avoid media and entertainment inconsistent with the Doctrinal Position of Liberty University.

Liberty is as if CF was a third-tier regional university instead of an online BB. :)
