The christian faith is a good faith, in my eyes it is the true faith that other religions are inferior to. This is really something I believe in strongly. And in my own life my experiences with fellow christians were mostly nice, really. However, I know that some christians are not the good people God wants them to be. Authenticity matters a lot. Sometimes christian churches do nothing right except handing out the blessings and sacraments.
What is needful for new christians is that they might understand how Jesus is unique and how He is not merely the executive of the church parlament. Sometimes christians make a show of their humility and believe they are very righteous when they pray for victory in war and all that stuff.
God SEES the sins of christianity, just like He sees it perfectly when we do the right thing.
Christianity is in a covenant with God. But individual christians are also in a covenant with God.
Let me tell you something, some weeks ago I thought my fate was to build myself a small life in Germany. That my girl didn't really want me, that I had no mission to accomplish, that it was all useless. I began signing up at websites where people hook up for dates, that kind of thing. I went chatting to a swinger chat. While I was chatting I remembered Jesus, and I thought, yes, I know Jesus is with me here anyway. I will be an outpost of God's grace even here.
Shocking? Maybe. I got away from that stuff and I realized my girlfriend still loved me. But even when you're sinful, doesn't mean God runs away from you if you keep the law of love in your heart.
I am not telling you to sin. I am telling you, though, that you decide yourself to keep Jesus forever, wherever you go. You can be a rapper, a singer, a husband, a farmer, a goth, a dreamer, a biker, whatever. Jesus will be with you and He will make the best out of it with you. There is NO truly sensible reason to leave Jesus. He is not hurting you. He is not thinking of leaving you. He is not just Lord, He is also friend.
Yes, there is probably such a thing as a perfect christianity. Going a path that is perfect and superior to other paths. That's the path of being led by Jesus and not trying to overtake Him and to run ahead. But that's the thing with perfectionism, it doesn't interest all of us. We would like to be ourselves, we would like to be free. Again, we can take Jesus with us on that journey.
That's something you must settle in your heart, that you tell Jesus that you believe in Him, that you love Him, and that you want Him to be with you, and that He shall give you a life with a happy ending. Jesus will provide that.
God bless you!
