Advice Needed

Greetings to all fellow Brothers and Sisters,

We trust all are well with you by HIS grace.

Could anyone guide and help us please as we try to get our design products into the Christian book stores but without any success.

It does make us wonder, are these people so rude for they never reply to you when you write to them.

We truly hope some people can explain to us why these so called Christians who operate or own Christian Bookstores does not reply to vendors who wrote to them?

Does our LORD teaches us to be rude or do not answer? Was there any chance for us to know what is happening or what must we do?

We are rejected without any trial of fairness. Does anything in the Bible that teaches us to reject our fellow brothers and sisters?

I think it is better to go to the outdoor market to find out how to set up your own store, or make some price arrangement on how much to keep for yourself and how much the store owner can keep if selling your product. Also, call your local council to find out more information on how your product can be sold wisely.

You need to find a tradeshow that is how you can talk to book store owners who are ready to buy. Check out the International Christian Retail Show. This year's show will be held in orlando FL in july. ;-) also if you have product submissions Lifeway Christian stores has an online submission process you could look into.

As we are designer and manufacturer, its impossible for us to deal with many book stores, our aim is to have 1 or 2 distributor so as they will distribute our products to the book stores like Lifeway Christian Stores. How can we go about it please?

You are expecting heaven on earth. Christian are humans and just because of rebirth we expect a total change. Remember our own growth. We all sin differently!!

What products are you trying to design and launch think is it really worth trying for it is being rejected everytime

If you are trying to contact them by email, your response rate will be very small, especially if they are a large bookstore. These places get 100s of these emails and there is no way to reply to all of them. You need something that will stand out to them to get a reply. Just because they do not reply does not mean they are being rude. Most emails are SPAM and sometimes its hard to tell the difference so they may not reply to these emails unless they recognize the person it is coming from

But what I have had success with is going in person to these places. It takes more time, but the success rate is much better. Ask to speak to someone who makes purchasing decisions. The next best thing is to call.

I'm not sure you will find distributers to do this work for you. They may ship your products to these kinds of places, but will not do the work needed to get them to purchase your items.

Bookstores are unfortunately struggling these days to keep their place in the market. Like the photo developer stores and video stores, they're slowly being run out of the market. I'm not sure if your particular product could be placed in a different type of store...but the fact that most bookstores are having a difficult time just staying afloat is something to consider when dealing with the owners and proprietors of such establishments.

Have you thought about self-publishing? (e.g. publishing on Amazon? iTunes, etc.?)

You don't need a bookstore these days to get your message out.

People are buying books on Amazon ALL THE TIME.

In fact, you'll reach more people this way.


If you REALLY want to get into bookstores, gather testimonials after you sell your books to Amazon.

The reason the bookstores aren't returning your call is because they don't know you and as a business, they want to make sure they make money.

So, if you can prove to them people love your books, they'll be more assured and confident to give you a chance at putting it on their bookshelves.

So, if you want, go to kdp dot amazon dot com and sign up and upload your book. You'll need a word file and cover picture.

After it's approved, it'll be up for sale in 12 hours.
