If you prophesy you must root out every little lie from your tongue every deception, every half truth, and every white lie - the lot. They all have to go. Because if you do not do this the same spirit that inspires the little lies you permit will get into your mouth when you prophesy! YOU WILL BECOME A FALSE PROPHET.
In the years since I heard that I have constantly kept it in mind. And I have come to realize that the principle involved here goes far beyond prophecy alone - it reaches into other areas........
Husbands/Wives - if you deceive your spouse you will come to the place where you try to deceive God too! And you will think that you have succeeded!!
Parents - if you allow your children to deceive or fail to fully inform the other parent you will also come to believe that the church of God can do things without God's knowledge or approval.
If we live a lie and believe that people are deceived by it we will eventually believe that God has given His blessing to our false lifestyle, that He too is deceived.
The General Principle involved here is this:
WHATEVER YOU DO IN THE NATURAL WILL BE REFLECTED IN YOUR SPIRITUAL WALK.
We need to clean up our acts. Sometimes we start to permit such things in our lives again. It does not all come at once but slowly crawl back in our lives this is called sin. Although we are forgiving we have no right to keep on walking in sin. Sometimes sin seems so harmless but be careful. A white lie here and there seems to make live more comfortable but before you wipe your eyes you are caught up in a lying spirit.
We cannot live as we like - we are not our own we are bought with a very precious price.
