Hi, my name is Cory, and I have been praying very hard for months now and feel thecall to ministry by God, I have taught at my church on wednesday nights in youth and have a started a bible study on morning at my school, and in January my pastor has given the great honor to lead one sermon that morning because of his absence, and I truly love God and want to do His will and teach and spread the Word of God. I know plenty of pastors are on this website as well as people once in my position. I was wondering how I should approach college choices, seminary, "bible colleges" and such work from here on out, I am also a 16 year old guy, a junior in high school.. any help, tips, advice and feedback with be graciouly thanked... thank you for your time, and God bless! :)

Advice (kinda simple, but still important >.>)
1) Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind :)...ministry is fun, but it must not become your God. We love God first.

2) Pray...ministry without prayer is weak.

3) Accountability...people to keep you accountable, and for you to share with and encourage and be encouraged by, even as you serve.

Simple, but it took me a while to figure those out =p Thank God He taught me them, though =p

Start by learning from other men of God who have really done something for the Kingdom. Bible college is nice, but there are a lot out there that teach a lot of garbage, so be careful where you go. I recommend going on youtube or sermonindex.net and listening to people like David Hogan, or Leonard Ravenhill. Getting a title in Bible college will be useless unless you have Jesus walking with you in intimacy. Don't let yourself become some cold minister who is scraping up teaching outlines because they don't have God flowing through them enough to get revelation for themselves.
If you really want to do something for the Kingdom of God, seek His face and minister out of your relationship with him. Bible college is fine like I said, but a bunch of knowledge is not the main key to success in ministry. If you know who Billy Graham is, he said in a recent interview that his advice to any young ministers would be more prayer and more study, that those are the keys to success.

If your parents are Christians have a good talk with them.
Sit down with your pastor and have a good talk.
Find a Godly, mature believer, a man who has walked with God for years and ask him to disciple you.

Look at a lot of different colleges. part of it depends on where you live. If you go to a secular college there are great campus ministries to get involved with - such as Campus Crusade for Christ. If you go to a secular college you want to make sure you have strong spiritual support surrounding you. Actually this is true at a Christian College also - no matter where you go you don't want to be lax.

God bless
