We apparently live the longest out of most people in the world even though we're often city dwellers! We're on par with those folk who live waaaay up in the mountains and are constantly doing hard work on like, farms and stuff- thats awesome

Even some vegetarians can be very unhealthy by eating tons of cheese, sugar, etc...

I am going to probably write something for my University's newpaper about there unhealthy food because it is a Adventist University and there cafe' is quite unhealthy. I find it Hypocrisy.

We ate lunch at church on Sabbath because my mom and sis were visiting and this is a new church for them to visit -- we just moved back East from San Diego. Everything was high in sodium, canned, and devoid of the natural nutrients. I sat there picking at the food evn though I was hungry, and it gave my mom a headache afterward. The food, while plentiful, was sadly lacking in wholesome goodness and freshness.

^_^ Well, around here, we have quite healthy food! Well, around here it seems the more liberal ones eat more unhealthy than the more "traditional" members. But thats probably because the more liberal members are of the more younger generation, where we're subjected to things like tv advertisement o_O

can you explain?

Yes.
They only tested it scientifically, which is fine, but I beleive we live longer not only because of the health reasons of the Sabbath but because we obey God.

But anyhow, they said that if you rest one day a week, and just don't work then your body will last a lot longer, basically. It went into more detail but I didn't see the whole thing and can't recall it all. You'd have to research the article.

 Amen to that!

I swear, my grandmas lifestyle isn't that great. Its not completely awful, she's not like the kids of this generation (of whom I used to be part of and have the same habbits..) who sit there and eat junk food constantly, but she isn't that great. Muches threw packets of chocolate biscuits, has quite a bit of dairy products, cooks her vegetables, has white bread... yeah o_O And does like no excerise. Yet, she's quite close with God, and is right now 92 and can walk without a walking stick and can think and isn't halluicinating and is great condition, compared with my Grandparents who are in their late 70's and can barely walk. I reckon its 'cos of God she's lived so long and healthy, despite the fact she isn't doing that much for her health... (not that I endorse that o_O)

But the sabbath would also help us... you know, relieave stress and such :) I don't know what I'd do without the sabbath :amen:

Very true about the study of the logevity of Adventists. Unfortunitly our church has walked away from the health message which is evident in our fellowship meals, schools and hospitals. Its sad that God gave us this message 150 years ago to prepare his people and for us to have an "opening wedge" for the gospel and now the world is telling us all about it. It reminds me of what Jesus said to the Jews, " how long I gathered you under my wings...". This is but one stream of light we have allowed to be extiguished.
