For ten years the kingdom of Adherin has been under King Bohden's rule, a place where mechanical birds deliver messages of secrets and dark words, and a new era of machines have launched a world of weaponry and transportation in a way that has helped all of mankind to flourish. But in this thriving kingdom lies an evil menace, hellbent on destroying all that is good and true. He calls himself Lodekai, and uses his influences of betrayal and murder to bring the human race to their knees. In his posession is the potent substance known as ignatius that he has manipulated to call up followers from the deep abyss, as well as turning willing humans into something a bit more...powerful. Monster? Demon? Overlord? You decide.

But among this dark presence is a shining beacon of hope known as Solaru. Half man, half angel, he walks among the humans in an effort to save them from Lodekai and his motivations. He's been gifted with the heavenly liquid, xyst, that transforms the purest of hearts into angelic beings like himself, the Aeonar. Although he has fought this battle for years in secret, he now goes in search of a special three that has also caught Lodekai's eye.

The Driscol sisters hold the fate of Adherin in their hands more than they realize. Ruby takes presidence as the eldest, now having the title of Lady after the recent death of their father left her inheriting his land and power as one of the king's close right hands. It is not a secret that she should have been queen, but in an act of rebellion some years ago she had fled the city, choosing to disappear instead of marrying Bohden Vasska. Now she commands alone with strength, bravery, and oft times, stubbornness.

In her place is her younger sister, the middle child, Sapphire. She rules beside her husband as queen with their young son, Adrian. Often she's thought on as vain and shallow, her own beauty outshining most, and is not without deception in her planning. But her son is her pride and joy, and she takes great pleasure in being a mother. And in knowing she's raising the next king.

Then there's the third sister. Opal has had little good fortune in life, cursed with a tormented soul and unattractive features. She dwells in the home of their late father, forgotten by many, and slinks in the shadows of her sisters' victories and glories of past ancestors. It is said in the streets she is not a true Driscol, but was left on the steps as a babe by a black crow to forever carry with her a cloud of gloom.

Setting

Adherin is a large kingdom, with numerous cities and towns. Kalden is the capitol city where the castle is built and most of the story takes place. The setting itself, that of clothes and buildings, are much like the Victorian Era. Swords are used much of the time, but there is the occasional pistol or musket used by officers and those rich or powerful or famous enough to have one. There is also the manufacture of machinery that can be used in numerous ways, such as taking the place of pigeon carriers or as hollow compartments to transport people (think carriages) or trains, etc. But there is no electricity and the like. Aside from the oddities of Lodekai, Solaru and their followers there are no other creatures and races in this world, only humans.

Currently I'm in need of a Solaru. Since he's an important character to the overall plot, I'd rather find someone who's experienced to write for him. Otherwise, you can make any other sort of character, be it evil or good or neutral.

Rules

1) Basic CF rules apply.
2) You must create a character bio, and it must be passed by myself first before you begin writing.
3) There needs to be a minimum of one paragraph in your posts. It's really not that hard, and it helps to keep the story going instead of expecting everyone else to do it for you.

And that's basically it :p If you have any questions feel free to ask.

You know, the more I read it, the better it looks. I'd love to join, if you don't mind. Though since it seems like much of the plot has been planned out already, I'm not sure how well I'll do in it, but I'd love to try anyway. Any particular type of character you recommend for it, any sort of idea what you like?

Understandable, Shadow. I have a couple candidates right now, but if they don't work out and you'd rather not write for Solaru I'll just take him myself. No biggie.

As soon as everyone gets their characters together (including myself :sorry:) I'll start the actual RPG.

So, Soleru, does he have a profile made, or could I mold him the way I wanted? I'm pretty sure that he does, since, if I remember right, he was Firefall's character, but even so, how much could I mold him?

Either way, I want another character. But first, what sort of "magic" or "special abilities" are there? Any? None? Keep it reasonable?

Here is Solaru's old profile. Cella gave it to me earlier.

I'm also curious of what kind of magic exists. More specifically, I'd like to know what magic abilities Solaru has. I've read through a little of the original RP, but I'm still not sure of all the powers Solaru possesses.

That helps. What's the other side of the spectrum? In the profile, it mentions that Solaru has to potential for good or evil. That said, does that mean that those affected by the ignatius possess the potential for... well, evil or good, if you catch my meaning?

This is why it's bad when the original creators of the characters go missing :p

I honestly don't know Solaru's power. Firefall was the one who created the idea of him, and I just threw in bits and pieces of my own. Just like I'm not sure of the extent of the xyst. All Firefall's creations. Whoever takes Solaru is welcome to make him their own, which includes the power aspect. The only thing I ask is to be reasonable and creative. I don't like when characters are uber powerful, especially when the rest aren't. And when I mean you can make him your own, that means you can give him a different name, different appearance, etc. Again, the only thing I ask is to stick with the general foundation of who he is: faithful and spiritual.

As far as there being magic in the world (at least I think that's what you were asking), there is none. At least in the way people often think of magic in fantasy. Take our world, where we have those who claim to delve in magic, have certain powers, illusionists, magicians, witches, etc. It's the same way in theirs.

The character list has been updated and profile links added.

Since we're getting close to starting, does anyone have an idea of where it should begin? The original had begun with a ball, which enabled Lodekai and Solaru to enter the capital and brought them all together. Cella and I were talking and I think we should stick to the same idea and perhaps have a celebration.

Solaru was transformed by the Xyst, so I'll assume that's what you meant instead of ignatius.

Well, from what I've read, it seems like Solaru chooses only those pure of heart to accept to xyst liquid. I believe Firefall said in the RP that most adults would not die if given the liquid, but I may be wrong.

I'm not sure what Firefall meant when he said that Solaru has the potential for good or evil. It may be his individual personality explaning that he understands both ends of the spectrum, yet chooses to do good.

I would assume that xyst works only on certain children who are pure and broken, with only a few exceptions including Solaru himself. If an Aeonar is to become evil, it would probably have to be after he has been given the xyst liquid. But this would require something (Lodekai?) to corrupt them.

I feel I understand Firefall's conception of Solaru quite well. Neither Kook nnor Firefall gave their characters clearly delineated abilities, which is what made them so appealing to me. They were created purely for the story, to be the antithesis to each other. Solaru was meant to be good and noble and highly attuned o Love; whereas Lodekai was intended to be the epitome of malice and cunning. Both could fly, had immense physical ability stemming from their disparate essences, and were exceptionally skilled warriors and commanders. They also had other, more subtle powers which are again consequent of their function in the story more than anything.

And I prefer there be no rossover characters. Not in the beginningg anyway. Aeonar are Aeonar. Ignatiuls are Ignatiuls.

Because Solaru is good, he has the freedom to choose evil as well. But he is good and so chooses the good over the evil. Savvy?
