(she dresses like a boy because it's easier to fight/move..also because she can wear the clothes her brothers have outgrown so her father doesn't have to buy/steal dresses for her..
Background: For an unknown reason, Adella was abandoned by her mother soon after birth. The man who raised her was out hunting when he found her wrapped up in a blanket and laying atop tree roots. He fed her goat milk and raised her as his own. She grew up with two older brothers, both of whom were human, but they were kind to her and kept her out of harm's way (which is saying something because her father and brothers are a part of the rebellion). From an early age, she showed signs of having special abilities. When her eldest brother, Garrett, was kicked in the head by a horse, he recovered in less than a day under Adella's care (& she was only 6 at the time).
Her father came to the conclusion that she must have Elven blood in her. Of course, she was still treated no differently, as she was already looked upon as family. However, Garrett was the one who took it upon himself to teach her to shoot a bow and arrow. He said that her concentration, combined with her steady hand, would someday make her an excellent hunter. It never crossed his mind that she'd later use it as an excuse to join the rebellion.
Personality: Adella becomes attached to people very quickly, and has a tendency to get along with those who usually dislike company. She takes orders very well, but only from those she sees as being an authority over her (like her brothers and her father). She loves animals, especially her black mare, Guinevere. She hates the king with a passion and can be very frightening in hand-to-hand combat as she's absolutely merciless. She's pretty level-headed and rarely lets her emotions get out of hand. She's very protective of her family & loves to goof off with her brothers.
Abilities: Inhuman speed & agility (as well as endurance), unfaltering concentration, steady hands, healing powers, & intelligence (if you can count that).
