It was absolutely worth the wait. I took a cross-country flight last night and listened to the song for probably a quarter of the journey, haha. I kept repeating it. I play music by ear and want to do a cover of it this weekend. Then I'll have to ration my listenings so that I won't continue to overplay it to the point of ad nauseam.

I'm starting to get to that point already. :) I need to not hear it for a week or two - which is difficult because it is *everywhere*.

It really does feel like it's everywhere. When I'm not actually listening to it I'm playing it in my mind because of the perpetual references to it and memes. This was in my Yik Yak stream recently:

:D

I know I'll tire of the song soon if I don't limit my mental consumption of it soon. I'm in Florida with my family for the weekend, and my mom and I were nudged into singing a karaoke version of Hello tonight. It was kinda awesome, ha. The song will still be endearing to me even when it's worn out and old for that memory.

I guess I must be out of touch, but I just heard this song last week. (I have been hearing the hype for months)

I was rather disappointed. This was the first time I had heard her sing. While she has a nice voice, (could be a great voice) "Hello" was way too repetitive for me. It was like they had one take of the chorus and spliced it in every time. Every inflection was identical from time to time; very unusual for a singer of blues based music.

Oh, that is so priceless!!! Hahaha. Literally a laugh out loud moment. I guess in case there are other adults reading this who don't know what GOAT means I should explain it to avoid confusion.

But then the next day .......

Yeah, I get that. REALLY I do. It took almost 40 years for me to be able to listen to "Hey Jude" without negative reaction after the over-saturation in 1969.

I had my music on shuffle while biking across campus this morning, and when Hello began playing I had to use all the self control I possess to not throw myself into it, haha. I have this Pavlovian response to that song. I get so passionate. It came on last week when I was 15 feet up in the air doing aerial silks and I had to force myself to not make my arms dance to it. Despite it being playing to the point of ad nauseum I still have affection for it. My favorite memories of 2015 are - prom, graduation, vacation, starting Stanford, the Nutcracker performances, and singing karaoke with my mom to Adele. I wonder what song from this year will have the same effect.
