  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It should be

Although once you get a feel for all the files and where they are located, it becomes less of a hassle. Then you run into another problem when installing new templates: what mods did you install on the other ones?

I would suggest checking out XMB, which is based on one template, but can be manipulate and have different themes. However, it has some major draw backs, but I enjoy hacking it

hey

just get easymod (cant be bothered getting a link....its a sticky in the mod releases and announcements forum at the phpbb.com forums)....it automates the whole process...can't do some things like SQL commands though. and if you've modified things yourself like i have it sometimes stuffs up if it trys to replace some code but there's nothing there for it to replace

yeah i know what you mean...occasionally i have to do it manually cos i've applies a couple of my own custom modifications and it comes up with errors...like for something as simple as if the mod wants to add a new link to the navigation bit, and it can't because i've replaced the standard overall header template with one of my own using tables and a Flash nav bar

I installed it on my site a little while ago. I would post a link, but I would get in trouble. I have found no problem installing mods. I also, use a template that I got from www.phpbb.com They offer free templates.

If you would like any help, ask me. I run many sites, and would love to help out.

There is a program called easymod which installs the mods for you, but there are only about 15 mods I have gotten to work with it.

Also I'd like to install a points and shop mod. If anyone has done this before please PM. I tried to install it but got it wrong so many times. If you have done it before and would like to do it again that would be great
