Why are so many Christians addicted to 'ministry". As far as I can read in Scripture, there is only one ministry for those in Christ. The ministry of reconciliation. That's what some people call 'getting saved', which is in iteself a wrong concept. We are reconciled and saved daily by the Life of Christ as Paul teaches us.

It seems to me that 'ministry' has become the God of many of God's children. Only the Son is Life and only the Son has Life and any thing we do now, that is, as we only do that which we see the Father do, is an extension not of our ministry, but of the ministry of Jesus.

So, my conclusion is that full-time ministry is man invented, because we ought to do EVERYTHING as unto the Lord. Here is my favorite article on the subject: The Last god to go

Everyone is called to minister...by ministering I mean serving God/God's people. This isn't just for church leaders! Alot of people tend to look at church like this, that it is the pastor's job to be on the playing field and the church will run up and down the sidelines yelling "Go pastor go!". Absolutley not....it is the minstry (purpose) of the pastors to encourage and equip the people of his church to get out on the playing field, to dust them off when they fall, and to edify. Everyone can do something to contribute to God's church...whether that is helping to feed the homeless, praying for the sick, teaching children about Jesus, leading a bible study group etc.
