Addicted to mastrubation, need accontability

My story is really sad and tragic. Have an history of addiction to pornography and lately mastrubation.
My pastor has been my accountability partner when it comes to porn. It really helped, even tho its pretty embarrassing to come a second time, even third and admit "i did it again" But to confess my mastrubation addiction to him is just to awkward.

I guess it would help if I could email confessions to someone if I fall. Or even have some kind of emergency phone number to call if I feel tempted. These addictions has destroyed my emotional life completely, going from being happy outgoing christian to now depressed.

GOD forgives and does not condemn you, i know its discouraging and depressing when you fall into temptation by porn or masturbation. at least you are seeking help and change. continue to confess your sins to GOD, 1 john 1:9, dont let the enemy condemn you.

Hiya Frank. We all have times when we fall, but keep on hanging. Our Lord is always with you, so just keep on fighting. Face Satan face to face and say, "Your tricks don't fool me no more. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazarene, I command you to leave, Satan!" Say it out loud and proud whenever you feel that you're going to fall.

So always fess up to God first. Then someone else.

Hi Frank. The struggle is very hard, I know. I have struggled with this too and still now, sometimes it can be very difficult. And yes, I would like to be your accountability partner. I will send a pm.

Dear FrankD,
Yes I agree, visiting your pastor accountability partner over and over again becomes awkward.
There are other very helpful tools I would suggest. Here are 2 more:
1. A book titled, "The Porn Trap - The Essential guide..." by Wendy and Larry Maltz. It is an excellent book for both men and women and the last two chapters talk to the couples and what they can do to overcome this porn problem.
2. We help men with porn problems here in Australia and Asia through our seminars and our Self Help Manual titled, Empowering Men - To Overcome the Temptation. You can find it if you look up on the internet Save The Source and then the resources page.
The self help manual has a section that looks at women in a different light, which causes men to approach/view them differently. I would highly recommend it.

When/if you find an accountability partner be sure to contact them always. I remember when I had one, I stopped calling him or texting him when I was tempted because I was ashamed and wanted to do my "thing" regardless. Just stick with it. You are already freed from this sin my brother (read Romans 6), it's just a matter of time that you actually realize it in your heart and not your intellect. God bless you

Thx for your well meant advice and love Agentle and in His shadow, need some resources about resisting temptation, so will probably check them out.

Well, its been a good week, 4 days without porn or mastrubation. Got one accountability partner, it really helped for me to get online accountability partner.
I'm gonna try and get a second, someone who does not struggle with temptation in this are himself and who are hearing Gods voice and can be a prayer partner/mentor. Sometimes we need help in life and this time it was me, but that's ok

Don´t forget ... it is Jesus who will stand up and fight for you on this. You don´t have to go it alone. Remember, each day is a victory for Him. Give it up to Him.

You are seen as clean in the eyes of the Father as the Father sees His son standing up for you.

If you fail again, read Psalm 51. All have sinned, and all can be reconciled.

I am raised as a Christian, but I was addicted to masturbation for 8 years. I decided to quit Christianity, because the preaching on victory over sin sounded like theory to me. At that point Jesus Christ intervened in my life and led me to an online ministry called Setting Captives Free.
